What are some sure-fire ways to tell fake Nudie? *pics*

Just as the title says, I'm wondering what some sure-fire ways to tell real nudie's from fake nudie's.

Background: I recently sold a pair of Nudie Pre-Wash that I would have sworn were real. I have never seen a fake pair of denim that looked good. All the details looked good to me, nothing seemed to be off. But I don't know Nudie very well and the person that I sold them to is having doubts about them and is going to take them to a retailer that carries Nudie to authenticate them. I will refund him if they aren't real, but I have to clear this up for my own piece of mind.

Here are some pics:

Thank you!!!

Any opinions would be helpful...I've been looking at pics of Nudies all night and these still look real to me. I don't want to be a fool and think they are real if they aren't, so help, please!

The pictures are so small, I can't really see any details.

The wash is hideous, but that doesn't necessarily make them fake.

Post closeups of the details (back pocket, patch, etc), so someone can confirm them for you.

There have been a shitload of fakes on eBay lately. If they are selling from Thailand, fakeness is pretty much guaranteed.

From those pics I would say real. The wash is in reality very pretty and something special, coz' theres a lot indigo in it and it's light coated.
This last point is interesting- do you remember a stiff and waxed touch on this pair? YKK Zip-Fly?

Thanks for the response everyone!

Yes to all those, Dr. House. They were waxy, like oiled, stiff (still pliable), denim was thick, seams were clean, had YKK zipper. .... All the hardware had Nudie jeans co. on it, not cheap looking. And the wash does look a lot better in person, but def. not for everyone.

The buyer says that he took them to Holt Renfrew and was told that they were fakes because of the quality of the denim and certain details that were confidential (to maintain authenticity). He's sending them back right now and I am just going to refund him.

These are the best pics I have left...the last one probably shows the truest color.

One more quickie detail...I didn't get these on ebay..I picked them out in the store cuz I thought they were cool. The stores around here don't carry too much off the mainstream. I saw these one day, did a bit more research about Nudie and went back to get them. It was a second hand clothing store and they had them in the girl's section () so I was pretty sure they wouldn't be gone. My bf won't wear them so I listed them on ebay.

This pair looks definitely real to me, but they're (not very well) hemmed, right (Picture 2)?
I'm very sure coz' my wife and me got a lot Nudie Stuff, a friend of us is a Nudie wholesaler. And as I said before, this is a special wash. Don't know if it's so on the Rich blue ones, the light rich blue is a very light denim. Maybe this is the "faking" point for the buyer...

Yeah, the hem job is pretty bad! I think they were hemmed before they were ever washed

The blue is rich, especially in the parts that kept the dye. That's what I liked so much about them, the gradient from light to dark is smooth but it's extreme.

Here's a question: Has Nudie evolved much over the years? Or has it always had a certain amount of variability from different productions? It seems like there is a lot of variability in the denims and the shape/size of the pockets, etc.

Now I just want them back so I can scrutinize in person!

Thanks so much for all the opinions; you guys are awesome

I don't know anything about the evolution of Nudie jeans, but I will say that, after looking at those pics, I really can't find anything wrong with the jeans from an authenticity point of view. Maybe your buyer just got buyer's remorse upon a closer inspection of the hem job.

The good people at Holt Renfrew, despite their good intentions, sometimes don't know shit fuck all. That is, if these jeans were taken to the store at all (I'd have my doubts if I were you).

Holt Refrew employees make good fuel for bonfires. This has been my only use for them to date.

I agree, from what I can see, those are authentic. Some of their washes do look like ass.

The special point about ths wash is that there is much indigo left. Even if it's a prewash it will fade. Looks nice in person and weird on pictures.
