Healthy eating and exercise works way better than any pill...

^ Pills will cause you to be jittery and dehydrate. Exercise more and eat better.

^^I agree. I have been through this whole thing too and diet pills don't work. If they did everyone would be thin. I just started weight watchers about 2 weeks ago and have already lost 3 pounds. I have tried other diets and they worked to a certain degree but I couldn't loose any further weight on them. WW has been around for longer than any other program and thats because it has worked for so many. You can join online and keep track of your food intake there. You should really check it out its worth a try.

I dont think you need diet pills. The simple formula to lose weight is calories in calories out. Are you eating the correct calories for your body(height and weight)? Try keeping a food journal it totally works. After the birth of my first child I "thought "I was trying to lose weight but it just was not coming off. This time after the birth of my 2nd baby I decided to read up on weight loss. I realized my eating was terrible. Things that I thought was okay was loaded with calories-I snacked too much and didn't burn enough calories compared to what I was putting in.I also realized I was an emotional eater and a chronic binger. I binged on chocolate at least 2 times a week!
After 2 weeks of writing down what I ate and annotating everything in fitday I lost 8 pounds.I still have a few more pounds to lose but I went from 213pounds down to my current weight of 160. I still have a few more pounds (10-20)to go before I reach my goal.If you need encouragement feel free to pm me. Sometimes we need someone to help us with accountablility-The main reason why weight watchers work for alot of people.

I would do the same thing if I was in Germany.

Diet pills never worked on me... only through eating less and exercising lots did I lose my 25lbs

It took 1.5 years nonetheless. It was not an easy journey.

Diet pills can be very dangerous and they only should be prescribed when they are really necessary, so you need to check with your doctor if you have any issue that is making loosing weight harder (like thyroid problems, insulin resistance, etc.) . If you don’t have anything unusual, eating healthy and exercising is the best way to reach and maintain an appropriate weight. Most effective diet pills are chemically related to amphetamines and are only prescribed when there is presence of obesity and when all the other traditional methods have failed. I am sure you don’t need this. Just, as other members pointed, you need to be organized and constant keeping a healthy diet and an adequate exercise routine.

yep, i agree with all the above. diet pills are just stimulants. the best way to lose weight and keep it off is to make a life style change. eat right and exercise.

Why not ask your doctor? He needs to do a physical to see if you're fit to take diet pills. It's really pointless asking anyone else.

Once you're off the pills, you'll gain the weight right back. No lie.

I don't support diet pills but that said, have you tried Alli?

It isn't a stimulant, and will ONLY work with a balanced diet. It blocks up to 25% of the fat you intake from being absorbed It is meant to complement your efforts, not take the place of them.

It should NOT be taken after you eat a bag of potato chips either, it can cause anal leakage if you are consuming too much fat.

If you read the info they put out they mention that it looks like the oil on top of a slice of pizza. That turned me off right there. Plus if you fart grease could actually come out of your ass. That is just not acceptable at all and its best to just change the lifestyle.

Get your diet in check, record what you eat, and exercise.

Loosing weight is just buring more calories than you take in. 3500cal = 1lb.

Stay hydrated.

Avoid carbs 5-6 hours before you go to sleep.

Stay away from helpful forms of diet pills - yes they can work - save them until you've lost all you can loose from hard work.

That only happens if you eat to much grease and at the beginning when your body is getting used to it, orlistat (the active ingredient) ist barely absorbed by your body so I believe this is one of the most harmless weight control pills out there, and alone it wont make you lose much weight, you need to exercise and do a low calorie diet as well. Doctors usually prescribe it along with subitramine, that is an inhibitor that helps enhance satiety and increases your metabolism (and also a very dangerous pill that should only be taken under a doctors advice and control).

Again (to the OP), only a doctor, after evaluating you, can tell you if you need to take pills. This kind of treatments (with meridia) normally are only prescribed to obese persons, to be considered obese you must have a Body mass index of 30 or greater, (you can calculated it here http://www.nhlbisupport.com/bmi/) if not, you should stick to exercise and diet and be patient and perseverant. You will get results for sure, it can be slow and hard, but once you've made it you will feel very happy and proud of yourself.
Once again my advice is to avoid pills and keep it natural

Nice! I'm glad you're going to do it the healthy way. Remember that veggies can be unlimited, so use them to fill up and gets lots of fiber and antioxidants.

If you want a great, healthy way to lose weight, consider reading Eat to Live. I know that Jenn and I both mention it a lot, but I know so many (permanent) success stories and I'm doing it myself for the most part, and wow, what a difference.

Good for you - I would also recommend WW meetings for additional support.

OTC diet pills don't work - its all about lifestyle change. I even tried Hoodia and did not lose weight. I have heard prescription meds work, but your BMI has to be in the obese range before any reputable doc will let you take them.
