this is so amazing

i came across a way to make a real low fat cake...i'm not sure who discovered it.. i think it was weight watchers...

theres different variations... but mostley it's made by adding a can of diet coke to a box of cake mix... only the soda and mix.. nothing else...
u mix it up and bake it according to the directions on the box... although the box i made said to bake them for 25 minutes and at about 15 minutes they smelled like they were done... kinda like they would've started to burn soon...anyway... it turned out pretty damn good
cupcakes work better than a cake because it doesn't hold together as well as a cake made with eggs and oil...

so.. with a chocolate cake and a can of diet coke... each cupcake would have around 90 calories...... it would probabley be less with yellow cake.. or angel food cake.
read the nutrition info on the box BEFORE baking... and divide the number of calories between however many cupcakes u make. the diet soda will not add anything extra to it...
some of the variations i found were
choc. cake with diet coke, diet chery coke, diet dr. pepper, diet cherry vanilla dr. pepper.

lemon cake with sprite, ginger ale, strawberry, mt. dew
angel food cake with sprite, other fruit flavor sodas, ginger ale
the possibilities are endless and u dont have to use diet saod... regular soda works too.. and add about 10 calories extra per cupcake

i made a choc. cake with diet pepsi tonight and it turned out awesome.. my kids didnt even know the difference....

also i've seen that some people only use 10oz of diet soda instead of the 12oz thats in a can... and also add 2 egg whites. i'm gonna try it this way next

That sounds interesting. The bubbles may make the cake lighter. I'll probably give it a go.

ok i just noticed that it has a little bit of an aspartame after taste
u might want to use soda thats sweetened with splenda. or just use regular soda instead of diet.. it's only 10 calories more per cupcake.. u could burn that off by peeling the wrapper off and throwing it away

tomorrow i'm gonna try the 10oz of soda and 2 egg whites... and also a yellow cake with sprite

i wonder what would go good with root beer?
