Food allergy test RECS..(?)

I am at my wits end with all these allergies and once and for all i am going to see a specialist and my doctor will refer me on tues..

Just curious if anyone on here has had tests done and how/which test were successful and if there is anything worth asking/trying/knowing before i have it all done? I am aware my doc will tell me what i need to know but i like to know as much as possible from people who have had first hand experience!

So far it appears i am allergic to wheat, corn, quinoa, lactose, gluten, 'red' fruits/veggies, peaches, bananas, aspartame/sorbitol? cucumbers, soy, tofu (..soy), casein...(symptoms are itching all over, cdifficulty breathing, mood changes, IBS (ugh..but TMI) skin irritations (rashes), joint pain (Not sure why..) and cystic? painful bumps)

Because of the horrid effects of allergies i tend to stick to a low variety of foods which i know only then exacerbates the problem so once i rule out the food sources that i have more chronic symptoms from i intend to broaden my variety a lot! I am positive about this because i really need to overcome my fear of foods. I am at the point where im terrified to eat anything..

I've had food allergy tests done around 15-20 times I think. I'm allergic to peanuts and fish.

Do not take antihistamines for a week ahead of time. Are you getting the pinprick tests? Make a point to wear a tank top - it sounds like they will need most of both arms to test on you.

^ Agree; I had them done too, and I am still allergic to mushrooms, all seafood and fresh-water fish. I was hoping I outgrew the allergies.

At the clinic I work for, we recommend to stop taking antihistamines for 2 weeks prior and a couple other medications that I can't think of right off the top of my head.
