My mom just bought a new Vitamix Super 5200.


Does anyone have any experience with this model or others from Vitamix?
Any recipes you'd wish to share?
Any tips and tricks we should know?

I did a forum search and discovered some members had some that broke. Sorry. Is there anything you wouldn't recommend doing with ours? TIA for the input.

I have a Vitamix 5000. It's awesome, I love it. The only recommendation I have is make sure you don't use the tamper w/out the lid on.
Obviously I knew this, but forgot one time and yep, you guessed it, I need a new tamper.

Here's a smoothie that I love. I can't take credit for this recipe, but it's really good IMO.

Purple Delight Smoothie

1 banana
about 1/4 of a pineapple (frozen)
1 Tbsp flax seeds
about 2 cups of frozen blueberries
3 or 4 handfuls of baby spinach
enough water to whiz it in the vitamix

I have been trying to decide on buying one of these. They start at $350 and go up from there but is it really worth it?

Oh man, yes they are worth it. I love mine. I just throw stuff in & it always tastes good.

Are they that expensive at Costco? I think mine was under $300.

I agree w/ Erica, they are definitely worth it!

The one they have online runs about $500 and some change. I have only seen them once in the store for $350 and it was just for demonstration so you had to buy it that day. Can anyone make blended coffee like they do at starbucks? The mint frap ones?
