| | | Farco vs. Yarik Well, I think I want to venture outside of bootcut and flare jeans...
I tried searching for info on Farco and Yarik, but couldnt' find any comparison info. What is the difference b/t these two cuts?
I'm looking for a low-rise and straight leg... Are there any other cuts I should look into?
Thanks guys |

| | | I was thinking the exact same thing as you about 3 weeks ago.... and I got some Yarik 708s. I really like them. The bottoms are going to be quite a bit more narrow than what you're used to. Compared to Farco, there's a little more room in the thigh, and also the back pockets are wider as opposed to being long and narrow like on the Farco. |

| | | Thanks imhotep!
Are the Yarik a low rise, comarable to Zathan?
I'm looking for a leg opening w/ no real taper to it. I know farco has a slight taper... |

| | | I'd say the rise is a either the same as a Zathan or a tad lower. They both are definitely straight leg, I know a lot of people call Farco's tapered, but they aren't. Neither are the Yarik. From the knee on down is all one width. For some reason, I think you will like Yarik's better, but that's just a hunch.
You might also look into the Zavor, although I've never tried them. |

Yarik has what is called a narrowed hem, the hem is brought in about a quater inch but it isn't tapered because the inside and outside seams stay parrallel to the hem.
And yarik fits lower than zathan in the front.

Also look into Levan. |

I think I want to try some Farcos. Did you guys generally stick to your Zathan sizing?
So, the rise of the farco is comparable to zathan and higher than the yarik's?
Thanks for the info all. |

| | What's with the hate on Levans?
Levans are a damn nice cut, I have a 85e and they are really awesome.
I think their fit depends on the material of the denim, cause I tried the 84j wash and the fit become pretty lackluster, but on the thicker denim of the 85e they are very nice.
The main reason is because under the knees the levan is cut more relaxed, so when applied to the wrong denim the results can be pretty bad. But yes at least for the 85e, I LOVE the Levan cut.(If you guys want I can post pics of me wearing them for reference)
And yes vincevtec I would recommend farco's as well, nothing beats farco's in the straight leg department. Bear in mind they fit tighter than Zathans though. |

| | Ok its pretty late, but yea took some pics
Sorry for the glare, and the mirror is very dirty.
Ok first 2 pics are of farco's
Then 2 pics of levan
As you can see the levans are a bit more relaxed down the knees, but are definitely not baggy. All in all levans are a nice straight slim cut.
But yes the farco's are definitely better if your really into a super slim cut.
Still Levans will always hold a place in my Diesel collection
BTW: the levan pics don't do the 85e wash justice, just gotta love those back pockets.
Hope that helps you out on your straight cut quest Vince.
And to answer your zathan and farco sizing question, I think it is safe to just stick with your zathan size. Since the farco's seem to fit a bit tighter in the thighs and below.

There are no rules for something to be tapered, only that it narrows to a specific point. Taper = narrowing |

Since we are obviously having a geometry lesson, the hem is perpendicular to both the inseam and outseam.
Taper refers to a consistent decrease in any axis over a proportionate length. Anything that narrows abruptly is not tapered. |

Should I stick to a 29w if I wear 29w in Zathan for this particular wash? |

I just purchased the last pair of Farco 85W in 29x30 in US Diesel stores...
Zathan sizing should be fine, correct?
Forreal this time, NO MORE JEANS FOR AWHILE!
