| | | Jeans for the Short Guy! :( Hi Everyone,
Short time lurker First time poster here!
I'm a short guy 5'7 and I find it really hard to find jeans that are the right fit for me.
My favourite pair of jeans (Levi's) are 33x30 in Relaxed Bootcut.
But I'm having trouble finding either Diesel or RnR jeans in that fit.
Sizes 34 and 33 are easy to find but its the length that always get me.
I lift weights and I just CAN'T and WON'T go anywhere near SLIM or SKINNY jeans Only RELAXED FITS for me thanks. (Thighs are too big anyway)
Can someone recommend a eBay seller??
Sorry for the semi Rant
#####Cliffs for the lazy members:######
Short guy looking for Diesel or RnR jeans in the following sizes:
34x30
33x30
Which eBay seller to go to??
Kindest Regards |

| | | Im just curious why no slim skinny? Ive been out of the gym for around a year, so Ive lost some mass, but Im still a decent sized guy, 5'7" 185lbs. Ive got big thighs also, small under the knee though, and zathans/zatiny's are the best cut for me. The bootcut really balances my legs out. I used to wear relaxed and baggy jeans before diesel. Ive seen before pics and now pics of myself, and I think I looked fatter than I do now, but I was in better shape. Just some food for thought. Of course, Im assuming your just a normal musclehead and not some ronnie coleman wannabe.
33/30 and 34/30 arent hard sizes to find, Im the around same size and Ive got ~20 pairs, but if your dead set on relaxed fit, thats where its gonna get you. |

| | | why don't you hem like everyone else? diesels come in various inseam lengths, but R&R only comes in inseams of 34-36" (except for the handful amount that will have 32" inseam) so if you don't ever want to hem.. I guess you're going to have to be searching all the time for used pairs that others have hemmed prior to selling on ebay or in the AF mall.

| | personally koffha is my favorite cut. my only gripe about the zathan/zatiny cuts is that the legs are so frigin tight if you also fit the waist.
this is koffha 796 on me and my quads tape 24" |

| | | Hmmmm im 5,8 160 and zatinys 30 long pretty much do it for my, Koffhas make me look like Dorf, Viker are also a good option, of course those cuts are slim and the relaxed cuts make short guys like me look shorter and fatter.

| | he's authentic and you will probably like zathan 8ik. it's not one of the super tight zathans and they look sick. $159 is also in the middle of the selling range for new. however, the range is kind of worthless since a pair of 28x30 could sell for $99 {not that they ever do} but it's worthless to you. if you wear 33x30, which i actually do in a zathan 8ik as well. hit the buy it now button before i change my mind and grab em

If you have never worn Diesel jeans before I really would recommend -if possible- getting to a diesel store or department store to try a pair or two on. Their sizings tend to run an inch or two longer and wider then listed. For example I'm 5'11 but a 30 leg is the perfect fit for me. |

| | Cheers for the helpful replies and advice.
I'm going for the DIESEL ZATHAN 8IK's!
Last question! I promise!
If it does happen to be too long how do I go about correcting the length?
I've seen some jeans that have been hemmed and they just don't look "right"
What should I ask when I take them in for adjusting? (Hopefully I won't need to!) |

| | | the post above as well as myself both happen to be 5'11 and enjoy the 30L tag. most the time that 30L is actually 31" taped or there abouts. as far as hemming. you will want to hem with the originals on the 8ik. they really do not look right if you just cut them. talk to some taylors and ask them if they are able to do this. |

They are by far the most popular cut and most trendy name, but they are quite specific and unforgiving in their shape. I'm 5'11 and 174 pounds and although i've got a few Zathans I almost never wear them as the waist/thigh ratio is quite high.
Don't disount Shazor too - it's a really nice cut and can often be got a lot cheaper than Zathan/Zatiny.
Here are a few of pics for examples to help you compare cuts:
Shazor 86G in 31/30 (I'm sizing down to 30/30 in these) - one of my favourite cuts. [cost me £20 off ebay]
Zathan 70N 31/30 - 31 waist. You can see how the legs seem to be pretty good but the waist and arse are too loose. Also note the large boot cut compared to the Zatiny below. I rarely wear them. [cost me £10 off ebay but had to pay for re-hem as they were 34L and a bit tatty]
Zathan 710 30/30 - 30 waist. Never worn these. Check how the waist is great, but the thighs are real tree-huggers, and the arse leaves nothing to the imagination. Makes a fatty like me feel a bit too self-conscious. [cost me £20 off ebay - they were poorly listed and I got a bargain]
Zatiny 30/30 - Note the smaller bootcut to the zathan, and the slightly roomier thigh and arse - these are my favourite cut. This is the same wash that you are looking at in the Zathans (8LK) [cost me £80 brand new in an Edinburgh high street store]
Hope that is of some help to you.

Don't think I've got the shape to pull off such a tight cut though. my legs feel restricted in movement. I'll try and wear them in a bit, around the house, to see if they relax a little - I'm certain they will.
Anyhoo - good luck to the OP if you get the Zathans. I hope they are kinder to you than they are me!

To the OP, I'm 5-8 and about 175. I have more weight in my lower body from playing hockey since age 5. I find that the most important measurement is the "thigh" measurement if you're buying without trying them on first. If it's not at least 12", it's gonna be too tight to be comfortable sitting down.
I have a couple of pairs of Zaghor, a Kuratt, a Quratt, a Larkee, and a Zaf. They're all relatively relaxed although the Quratt (88z) is a little more relaxed than I'd like.
Also keep in mind that the thigh measurement is different sometimes in different washes.
As for hemming the jeans, my recommendation is going to your local premium denim shop and asking where they get their hems done. I saw my local dry cleaner was charging $20+ for that service, and, from what I've heard, they don't even do a good job. I found that there is a place (Nora Dang if you're in Pittsburgh) that does a great job for $6 and they are who Pittsburgh Jean Company sends their hem work to. |
