Cleaning Pebbled leather?

Has anybody had any luck with cleaning the Pebbled Leather? They (girls at Coach and Coach Factory as well as the Websits) say that you cannot use the moisturizer OR cleaner on this leather. I was able to use a clean damp cloth on my black one to get dust-type dirt off, but getting nervous of the day that I get anything on my white one. They are both the Large Ergo Tote...don't know if there are different pebbled leathers.
TIA

well SilverVT once had fish oil capsules explode in her purse...and she sent it off somewhere and it came back looking PERFECT. I don't know how bad your 'dust-type dirt' is, but it might be worth it to you.

Oooh, I'd like to know too because one side of my large lavender pebbled leather hobo looks a little dark from dirt. I'm able to wipe dirt off the smooth white leather handle but not the purple pebbled part (whoah, I just made an alliteration, haha

Thanks!

did you try baby wipes? I find those work great even on bags that Coach says shouldn't be used with the cleaner/moisturizer.

Well, it finally happened...a dark wash denim transferred onto my white pebbled leather ergo I'm always so careful with my jeans...I didn't even think when I wore a cute little denim balero (no idea how to spell it...rib-lenght jacket) any how, I get home and low and behold, the shoulder straps and top of the bag are light blue I felt so sick

I called the Coach store, the girl who answered put another girl on the phone...the girl who is ALWAYS there when I stop in...she told me to dampen a cloth diaper, spread a small amount of liquid dish soap over the surface of the cloth and sweep it across the area with even strokes....IT WORKED I wish I would have taken before and after pictures to post...I am so effin excited

Just thought that I would share since there are a lot of Coach lovers who love PD as well and its bound to happen with a wash like Mercer or St. Petersburg (and figure someone may slip up one day like I did)

Sorry I'm replying to such an old post... but I'm a little confused; did you end up using baby wipes or did you just use a damp cloth with dish soap. What exactly is a "cloth diaper" (sorry if I'm being an idiot).. thanks!

You don't really need to get a cloth diaper -- you just need something that is that material. It is like the material in a jersey T-shirt. You just don't want to use a cloth or towel that is terry cloth, or mesh, or anything with fibers that will come off as you rub it on the leather.

Either baby wipes or water + mild soap (woolite or dish soap) should work. The reason you can't use a harsh cleaner on pebbled leather is because it smooths the leather out and the leather is no longer "pebbled."

I used the cloth diaper and mild soap. A cloth diaper is just that...a baby diaper that is made out of cloth...a reusable/washable diaper. DA is correct though, any soft cloth that does not shed it's fibers will work. The SA just told me to use a cloth diaper because I'm a frequent shopper/visitor at the store and she knew that I have a baby...still in diapers
