Where to get Coach cleaned?

I thought i read something before saying that you could take your Coach to any Coach store and they will clean it. i have a couple bags that need a thorough cleaning & I was wondering if i should take them to the store (one of them i bought on ebay, the other is from the outlet) or trust a drycleaning service.

Jetta-take them to a Coach Store...if authentic they will refurbish-I had my briefcase & purse done...free...but they send them away to do it (they also fixed some other stuff that I didn't realize I needed-like replaced a strap for me & fixed a snap)...be prepared to be without the bags for a couple/few weeks. It's been a about 10 years since I've had this done but Coach has a lifetime guarantee on all their products...

good luck!

you don't need a receipt or anything do you? can you take them to the coach outlet as well? or does it need to be a regular retail store?

sorry for all the questions. I'm not in need of cleaning or anything...but would be good to know for future.

"One of the hallmarks of the Coach company is their policy which states that any Coach product may be repaired for the life of the product by simply shipping it back to the home office for a nominal fee, with a note or letter stating the problem."

That's for repairs, but I imagine their policy would be the same or similar for cleaning a bag. I would bring it to a regular store... I don't *believe* the Outlets do cleaning, but I'm not positive about that. I know for a fact that the regular stores do though

do they charge you now? My mom had 3 old leather bags re-piped and it was free.

I tried calling the South Coast Plaza location to clean my hobo bag, and they told me to clean it myself with some dish soap and water.

the Outlets will not do the return for you. has to be a Coach Retail Store. hmmmSouth Coast Plaza...just judging by the way MOST of the salespeople are there...I would just take the bag in & politely ask them to send it back. They may have charged me a shipping fee but it was probably like $15 or 20 at the time. Well worth it. I had trashed one of my bags with an exploding bottle of perfume & turned the leather all whitish...not pretty...got it back in MINT condition a few weeks later.

They are known for having the best policy on their merchandise. It's why I never regret buying a Coach. Also, I've taken bags back to the outlet that I've had "issues" with...color, seams coming loose...etc. The manager at the VT outlets has done this for me 2 or 3 times...where she will give me the last retail price for the bag & then... I have to pick out something of equal (or greater value) to puchase. Not sure if all outlets will do this but I know manchester VT did. the only bear is that the WALLET policy isn't as good...due to the fact that my wallet was such an old style & (I've had it for more than 20 years) that she couldn't give me really much back on it...like 30 or so...

Good luck!

I have a large signature tote with beading on the front that I brought to my local coach store to have some of the beads fixed && they sent it out to get it fixed for free but you have to pay S&H which was $20. Besides fixing the beads they cleaned the inside too so they will probably clean it for you.

Do you need a receipt to get them to clean your bag for you? Lol this has to do with me buying Coach bags on eBay, so i'm wondering whether they'll clean it down at my local store...

I worked at a Coach outlet about 10-12 years ago. At that time if people would come in with a small stain or mark on the bag we would try to do a spot cleaning for them. We would just use the same coach leather cleaner and moisturizer that is sold in the stores though. We also could do little things too like replace a turnlock closure. If you needed a major cleaning then yeah you could just take it to a retail store and ask them. If it's suede definately stay away from the drycleaning service and from dish soap (although I have tried this with some of my other bags).

Velvetine although it was a long time ago when I worked for them we never required receipts. We could tell by looking at the bag whether it was real and that was good enough. I doubt the retail stores would require any sort of receipt to send one off but I have actually never had to have any of my bags repaired so I'm not certain. They all have individual serial numbers imprinted in them so they may do some sort of lookup to verify their authenticity.... this is just speculation though.... they may not check. You could just take it into a store and say it was a gift and see what they say.

Hmmmm. There's a huge spot on my Coach wallet that happened when my boyfriend tried to clean some dye off of it for me. Do you think that can be fixed? I showed it to the salesperson at my local Coach store and she tried to clean it, but I believe the leather's actually been rubbed off. They can't do anything about that, can they?

oh, so i should not go to a drycleaner for my coach bag? i have been putting this off, but i need to go to KC anyway so i will bring my Coach bag to try to get it cleaned tomorrow at the store. I just don't know what to do with it when i get it back- it gets filthy soo easily but i feel bad about selling it b/c it was a present.

OMG, this sucks I went to the Coach store today and they told me that they don't send bags off to get cleaned & I should take it to a dry cleaners. 2 people told me that this is what they tell everyone who comes in wanting their bag cleaned.

Hi Jetta- if they say the dry cleaner is the way to go then give it a try. I was worried that the chemicals they use may be damaging or harsh on the leather but they would know better than I do. I haven't worked there in over a decade so I'm probably out of the loop Sorry.
