| | | I'm with everybody else, real because I sincerely doubt this style is faked (it's pretty old, but then again who am I to be talking about old...I own two coach's that were actually made in the US!).

| | | Coach auth question Hi all. I am new to the forum. I post on another board that deals with the authentication of bags and accessories on another site.
Does the creed read J33-9879? If so that is not a valid Coach creed number. If it read something like J3K-9879 that is a valid serial number. There has never been a letter, number, number serial number as far as I know. Plus some of the words on the creed are spaced further apart than others. Another aside about the serial number. With a sequence such as this you should be able to call the Coach 800 customer service line, give them the number on the creed and they'll tell you what the style name of the bag is. I can bet they will tell you that's not a valid serial number. |

I have a very hard time believing you're an expert given some of the advice you've posted in this forum. Enclosed is a picture of an authentic serial number from a Classic Signature Soft Demi from 2005. The words on the creed do not have uniform spacing and it has a letter, number, number serial#. I have two other Coach purses that match the letter, number, number sequence.. all purchased directly from Coach. Be my guest and call Coach with this serial number if you're so certain that letter-number-number sequences aren't valid |

| | I'm new to AF and I realize the last thread upd was a couple of wks ago. However, I just sold a Coach Messenger Bag and this was the embossed info on mine:
As you can see, mine doesn't follow the letter, number, number serial#...mine is like the other poster mentioned w/letter, number, LETTER, number serial#. I'm not sure if this purse is 2005 or 2006. It was purchased at a military installation that carries Coach and Dooney & Bourke bags.
All I'm saying is it looks like you're both right! luvs_designer_bagz was obviously wrong for saying that it couldn't be letter, number, number serial#, though. Just wanted to give an update.... |

| | | ^ I was just using the creed on mine to prove that what the luv-designer bags person said wasn't the absolute truth. I wasn't saying that the format had to follow mine's LOL.
It was just to show that you can't take all people who claim to be experts at face value. |

| | | She also suggested that people who have large numbers of NWT Coach items for sale are all peddling fakes.. when in reality some people buy wholesale for their 'stores' and sell them on ebay, or are serial outlet shoppers. Her advice about the alignment was off as well.. I just didn't want anyone following her advice and being deluded into thinking their authentic coach purses were fake. |

| | | Coach doesn't sell wholesale. Stores have to be approved just like jeans, like RR,TR SFAM.
There is a trick to the way Coach does the serial number. Part is the model of the bag, part is how Coach knows it is their bag. You register the bag, they know if they really made it, by the numbers. It helps them track their bags.

| | | ^ That's what I thought too.. but I know a person whose dad bought wholesale for his store (which is like an electronics store) and sells the bags on ebay. |

It was just to show that you can't take all people who claim to be experts at face value. | All I mentioned was that it looked like both of you were right in regards to there are two diff ways the serial label is presented. She was right about her own AND mine (does mine look fake?) BUT not yours.
I think you may need to reread my last statement on 08-13 where I state she was obviously wrong. |

| | ^ I did read it. I was just clarifying my original post bc I didn't want it to come across as me saying that they all had to follow my tag's format...just that I was showing the exception to her rule and you can have creeds with both formats
