I THINK THIS EBAY POWER SELLER IS PRODUCING FAKE CITIZENS OF HUMANITY MATERNITY JEANS. PLEASE PAY CLOSE ATTENTION TO THE BELLY PANELS (ALL THE SAME) AND THE FACT THAT ALL THE JEANS HAVE BELT LOOPS- IT LOOKS LIKE THEY CUT THE TOPS OFF OF JEANS AND SEWED ON MATERNITY BELLY PANELS! HELLP!!

look at all the "premium" denim they sell, pay attention to the details I mentioned above!
eBay Store - seven maternity jeans: citizens of humanity maternity jeans, designer maternity jeans, true religion maternity jeans

Thank you so much for any help!

and if the jeans are real...

but they are adding the maternity waistband doesnt this disclaimer on the stores FAQ state differently:

The jeans themselves are real. You are correct, Time of my Life takes regular jeans and converts them into maternity jeans by adding a belly panel.

As for the FAQ, they are just saying that the jeans are authentic. Just because they alter them doesn't make the jeans "fake".

they are fairly well known for scooping up jeans to 'convert' them to maternity and sell for a LOT more than they got them for.

Im not a big fan of that seller, but afaik, they dont sell fakes.

yes, I did not think that the actual jeans are fake but I just dont understand how they can sell mostly used jeans then cut the tops off and sell them for 125 when 100% authentic COH maternity is average 180. It just feels so deceptive and just plain wrong. I do not think that the "average" person purchasing these jeans realize what they are doing. I dont know why it bothers me- it just feels so deceptive- they do not state exactly what they are doing- regardless of the authenticity of the denim... Thank you very much for your responses!! I love COH and COH maternity is my absolute favorite. I know they are expensive but its so worth it to when your not "best". THANK YOU

I fail to understand why people get so damn worked up about this seller. she wins jeans, fair and square...and converts them into maternity jeans. how is she deceiving anyone? "original" designer maternity jeans are relatively new to the market, and cost more than her pairs (although I will agree the construction of original maternity jeans is superior to her makeshift pairs). in addition, not as many styles are produced by sfam, tr, coh, etc. that's changing now, but as someone who has been pregnant six times in 10 years, I appreciate that someone feels that expectant moms should look stylish too. i think she has an excellent business idea. if someone loses an auction to her, it's because she bid more. period. :magwink

the only reason I didn't purchase a bunch if her jeans is because I don't like the bands she uses; they're too restricting for me. I found deals on original pairs and I'm glad I did; but that doesn't make me resent her. :IDK

in terms of authenticity, MOST of her jeans are real. there have been a few fakes here and there, so it's best to auth them if you have any doubt.

I agree.. on all counts.

Im not a big fan of hers just because the few pairs I got while pregnant didnt fit at all, when my pre-preg. PD was still fitting fine... and because she randomly uses mens jeans and claims them as womens :rofl but overall, its nice that someones tapped the maternity market.

What upsets me is the price points she sells them at. The buy it nows are listed between 94-130 for what I found was mostly USED jeans that have been altered. No where on the sale site does it say that these jeans were not originally produced as maternity- that to me is deceptive to the "average" buyer who does not know designer denim as well as others. I wear COH, True R, Paige and Joe's jeans and it took me a few looks at her site to realize that these were not as great as it seems. Im sorry but I feel this is just plain wrong. I see NOTHING wrong with altering jeans with maternity panels but not saying so is just plain wrong. This is the response I got from them when I EXPLICITLY asked if these panels were added on:
From me regarding COH Faye maternity jeans sold on their site:
Are these authentic, original Citizens of Humanity Kelly bootcut
jeans that were produced with ORIGINAL MATERNITY PANEL? Is that the original maternity panel? The same exact jeans sold in Nordstrom DO NOT have the belt loops. Please post if these are Citizens of Humanity maternity jeans that have been produced originally by the company.

From her:
Hello, Thank you for emails you have sent. Everything we sell is 100% Authentic. Feel free to view the last 15,000 happy customers comments in out feedback.
Kind Regards,
Ella

From me:
I did not ask if the actual denim was authentic. I asked how the
maternity panels got on the pants. Please kindly respond to that
specific question. Thank you.

From her:
Unfortunately because I do not actually see the process I can not give you a play by play breakdown. If the jeans do not look like something you would like please feel free to shop elsewhere.

They are NOT answering my question. Why I sell something on ebay, and a buyer asks me a specific question, aren't I suppose to be honest with a response? How would one feel if you purchased something from someone on ebay who didnt tell you the item was ALTERED? Angry? Disappointed? I think this they are NOT being honest and that is why I am upset. When Pea in a Pod put the secret fit panel on a pair of jeans- they work exclusively with those specific jean companies to do so, this to me seems after market and people are being taken advantage of. I am all for someone altering a jean into maternity but not when they do not CLEARLY state it and when asked will not give an honest answer.

Thanks for your responses!

Yes, from what I understand, COH maternity makes one pair with belt loops- I think these are them... in which, after speaking to Pea in the Pod- COH and many other premium denim companies work directly with Pea in the Pod to create the Secret Fit panel...

Citizens of Humanity Kelly Secret Fit Belly(tm) 5 Pocket Boot Cut Maternity Jeans | A Pea in the Pod

This is the only pair I have found.

The reason I believe that the maternity panels are added on to regular COH and other types of premium denim is because they are all EXACTLY the same! Look at all the jeans- they are all exactly the same, across brands- its just weird to me. Again, no offense- I just believe that if someone is going to buy something they should be allowed to know what it is that they are buying. Thanks to you all for your input. Again, I just love COH!

I remember a time when a seller listed a ton of 7fam at .99 and we were all trying to get them. And then she sniped all of us! She won like..20 pairs for under $20.

Now i place my max bid at what my max bid really is.

I do agree sometimes it is annoying to see her win something over me, but just means she's willing to pay more. Nothing wrong with that.

:IDK

I honestly do not care if she pays more or wins... I will not give her my business unless she is honest and answers my direct questions. I'm not dealing with her- I can buy new for 180, instead of USED and ALTERED for 125- with no returns. I'm sorry if no one agrees but I think what she is doing is deceptive to a regular person who doesn't understand premium denim and I feel that it is wrong to do that to people.

Side note- I am not trying to start a storm or arguement. I LOVE COH, I am glad I found this forumbecause they are hands down, the best jeans ever. Being five months pregnant COH maternity are my life savers! They fit great, are durable and make me feel awesome as I gain weight. I just want everyone to experience quality COH denim for reasonable prices. I get some used COH maternity from ebay but they are "original"- meaning original bands and sold at reasonable prices - 40-80 through auction.

So, YAY for COH maternity and this forum!
