Okay, I'm going to let my dork flag fly right now. My ex-bf and I had a collection of DVDs about Bigfoot and those searching for him. We loved watching that stuff. I could tell you about all the great scientists who wanted to find him.

I only watch Finding Bigfoot occasionally but my 5 yo nephew LOVES it and asks me if I watched it all the time.

LOL Beth! My Grandpa is totally into Bigfoot and got me to really into the whole thing! Is "Finding Bigfoot" a series? What is this latest episode that made you a believer?

It's a show on Animal Planet.

Beth, what's your opinion on the Patterson-Gimlin film footage? To me, that's a Sasquatch.

They never find shit on any of these shows. I watched Monsterquest all the time and I think they found one, which was like a giant crocodile. They never found bigfoot, chupacabra or any of the mythical creatures they set out to look for. But..I watched every episode. I watched a few episodes of Finding Bigfoot and just got tired of all the bigfoot calls and stuff like that. How do they know what a bigfoot sounds like? That poor little baboon that they brought out there in a cage too. I really thought something would happen, but nada.

I think it's real! I have seen so many different breakdowns of that video. I believe.

Cielo, my grandpa always told us that he saw one in Geode State Park. He and my grandma lived right by the park.

Yeah, my Grandpa said he saw one at this place called Yellow Bottom in Oregon back in the 80s. My uncle (his son) is also really into them too, he showed me these photos of Bigfoot poop that there is NO WAY it could be from any animal because it's so big. I love all things mysterious and unknown!

ETA: I'm going to look to see if I still have the email, if I do I will post it if you guys want.

Tried giving this show another chance and although some parts were interesting, most of it just annoyed me more than anything. How do you actually become a bigfoot expert? How do they know what a bigfoot sounds like? How do they know they whistle to each other to communicate? They're talking about a thing that no one has encountered with solid proof besides pictures taken from distances. They just ad-lib. They hear a bird chirp that sounds like a whistle and its oh..."those are big foots talking to each other."

I saw that episode where they were taking pictures of one of the guys and comparing it to a photo that someone took that claims it was a bigfoot. They focused on the neck and shoulders but not the obvious...the height. Big foots are reported to be at least 7-8 feet tall, yet the pictures showed very little height difference. A baby big foot?

I agree, the previews for the show make me laugh and I ended up watching 10-15 minutes of one episode. What a joke. "That's a squatch!!" Based on what factual information? They can't possibly know that. At the end of the episode, they decided they successfully heard two sasquatches, packed up and headed home. If they ever really found definitive proof of a bigfoot, we'd have seen it on the news months before the episodes actually air.

Well of course there are juvenile sasquatches, and like humans their size and color vary. Some of these bigfoot researchers have been doing it for years, and Matt Moneymaker has been bigfooting for over 25 years. A lot of them have had their own encounters, and that is how they know what they look like and sound like. There has been numerous sound recordings as well. Sasquatches even have their own "language" it almost sounds like "samurai chatter." There is also other evidence like video and thermal recordings and footprint evidence.

These animals are rare and elusive. Just like the Giant Panda, many animals are difficult to discover over many years. Just recently a monkey species that was thought extinct was rediscovered:

Pictures: "Extinct" Monkeys With Sideburns Found in Borneo

What makes me a believer is the large amounts of eyewitness reports. Sure, some could be explained as something other than a sasquatch or possible hoax, but out of all the sightings some of these must be real.

There is actually a doctor, Melba Ketchum, who is working on a peer-reviewed research report regarding sasquatch and how their DNA is extremely close to ours, in fact she attests they are actually human. She claims she has used hair samples, bone fragments, tissue, and blood for her analysis. Hopefully her report will be published so these animals can be protected and accepted.

But yeah, the show is not really how real bigfoot research is done

Species such as the Giant Panda or even that monkey are much more different than a Sasquatch. You have scientific proof of their existence. Its documented with very clear photos. Why is it that every big foot picture is taken with either a crappy ass camera or from 100 yards away with a cell phone? The Patterson footage of big foot was filmed 45 years ago and sightings have been reported before that. As high tech as the equipment has been in the last 20 years, they can find a new breed of monkey in the wild that is probably about 3 feet tall but they can't manage to find something that is 8 feet tall with big ass feet? I'm not going to lie. I'm fascinated with the possibly existence of a sasquatch, but until they uncover real concrete evidence, then I'm going to remain skeptical.

Until the 1920s & 30s very little was known about Giant Pandas here in the western world. Not until a live specimen was brought over in the 30s did we really learn much about them. The Sasquatch is extremely intelligent & fast. If you are lucky enough to catch one on film it is usually running away. Unfortunately it will most likely take a body dead or alive to really establish their existence to the mainstream. There's certainly many species in the world to yet be discovered. The Patterson film footage is clear evidence to me. Check out the Munns report for analysis of the film.

Just watched "Bigfoot, the Definitive Guide" and this was a much better show. I'm fascinated by the idea of there being a bigfoot or yeti, but will remain skeptical until they actually uncover one. This showed had a backround story to Roger Patterson and his infamous video. People around him said that he had decided to film a movie about, of all things, bigfoot. He borrowed money from investors to help fund the movie, but quickly burned through it. Out of money, he and his partner, Robert Gimlin, decided to go into the woods near Klamath Lake in California to look for a bigfoot. His movie was complete and in order for him to make the movie plausible, he needed to catch a sasquatch on film. Was he really that lucky? The quality of the film was so bad, it really hard to come to a conclusive answer on whether its real or not. All they could do is question the credibility of the source.

I watched it, too, though I've seen it and many, many other DVDs before. Patterson's story does seem too good to be true, however, I just do not think there is any way he could have pulled off such a hoax in 1967. I mean, really think about life in 1967. It was SO much different than it is now.

If anyone wants to know some good ones to watch, I can recommend some. There is even one that Leonard Nimoy narrates!
