Octomom: "Octomom" Nadya Suleman Sells Autographed Undies at Yard Sale - ktla.com
LA HABRA, Calif. -- Nadya Suleman held a yard sale and online auction at her Madonna Lane home in La Habra Saturday morning to help raise money to pay her mortgage. |
The mother of 14 sold items like the bikini she wore on the cover of tabloid magazines and an autographed nursing bra.
Suleman faces foreclosure if she can't meet a balloon mortgage payment of $450,000 on Oct. 9.
Radio personality Tattoo, with the Rick Dee's morning Internet Top 40 show Tattoo and Crew, helped hold the sale and auction.
The auction was streamed live on UStream.tv, with Tattoo giving a play by play of the items up for auction.
All items were being made available online on eBay "for fans around the world to make their bids."

Some of the items up for grabs were the sofa Nadya was sitting on when she found out she was pregnant with octuplets, handprints of the children, "autographed pregnancy panties" and "numerous Octo toys," some autographed.
Raymond Powell, who purchased an autographed Lakers jersey once worn by Suleman, told KTLA he doesn't mind helping out, as long as the children benefit from the sale.
"I understand that she needs the money for the kids and if the money really is going to the kids I don't mind giving money," Powell said.
Suleman says money is tight, but she's also trying to clear out her toy-filled home.
"We're struggling but at the same time we're really reducing any excess. So that's where all the toys come in. We're selling toys, any kind of anything that can be used that we don't use anymore," Suleman said.
Suleman claims that she only has a week's worth of money left and will do "everything she can" to avoid going on welfare.
The mortgage holder of the home, Amer Haddadin, says he doesn't believe that Suleman is without money.
He says he thinks she's lying and wants his money now.
"I have all the papers ready now. It's a matter of just to go ahead and say the okay," Haddadin told KTLA.
"I tried to help them but they kind of abused the help that I offered to them," he added.
Suleman's attorney, Jeff Czech, says his client found a way to come up with the September payment, which she had missed, by doing a television interview that paid her $4,000.
He wouldn't reveal the show or when it will air.
Suleman has been living in the home for a year and a half and Haddadin has already given her several extensions.
He says, however, this time he has no more patience.
He has already started the foreclosure process.
Radar reports that Suleman wrote a book, but no publishers have expressed interest in buying it.
A reality TV show about raising 14 kids has also apparently fizzled.
She has also been given several offers from VIVID entertainment to star in a porn film -- the latest offer was reportedly for $500,000 -- but Suleman has refused.
Suleman gave birth to octuplets -- six boys and two girls -- on Jan. 26, 2009.
She also has six older children -- all the result of in-vitro fertilization.
