Diners Drive Ins and Dives

My boyfriend and I have been addicted to this show for about a year now. Any other foodies out there that like this one too? MMM the food always looks so appetizing!

I watch a lot of Food Network. Giada at Home is my favorite (my hubby got me her new cookbook for Xmas) but I watch Diners, Drive Ins & Dives when it's on. I just saw the one where he goes to North Pole, Alaska. There's some suprisingly good food up there!

YESS that's my favorite show on Food Network, though I always feel like a fatty when I watch it. It always makes me hungry, especially since it comes on at night. I always find myself eating something after I watch it....like McDonalds...hahaha...

It's a fun show to watch but I wouldn't eat half of the food they feature there, like deep fried pancakes...well something along that side. Half of the food look like they are going to give you a heart attack!

I recently went to Guy Fieri's restaurant in Santa Rosa, CA. He lives in the town also, but was on the road when we visited. They had his schedule posted. He's a busy guy!

I ate at one of the "dives" featured on this show this weekend. Fab's Hot Dogs was worth the long line! There was a signed picture of Guy on the wall too. I had a LA Street Dog with tater tots. If you're in the LA area you should check it out. Better than Pink's IMO

I was dragged to one of the restaurants that they featured here by a friend who watches the show. I was not in the least impressed. Maybe I just ordered the wrong thing.

It's not that it was inedible or anything, but I was just expecting something "more" out of it. I could have eaten the same thing at just about any local place.

We went to another place featured on this show on Tues. Oinkster in Eagle Rock, CA. They do "slow-cooked fast food." My opinion was meh. I had a pastrami sandwich. Pastrami was tasty, but nothing wowed me. Oh but they make their own ketchup & that was good! I also took home a peanut butter & jelly cupcake. NOT good. The idea sounded neat, but it wasn't executed well. The frosting tasted like pure peanut butter

DD&D is horrible. It always seems to be on when I'm up late, and it makes me snack at 2am! I can never turn it off though. But The F Word is my favourite food show by far.

Oh noes! I love the Oinkster. I like to go there after football games (at the Rose Bowl.)
