So is Victoria renewing her contract with R&R or is she still "shopping around" (possibly here in Canada?).

That being said...as much as i like Victoria (i really do like her, she actually seems pretty nice) i sometimes wish that Mr. Becks was single (not that i would have a chance in hell but hey i can dream!)

Damn ... on the main forum page you can only see "It's official- Beck is ..." in the title of this thread, and I thought that Vic and him had a falling out! Got my hopes up ...

I'm going to buy partial season tickets as soon as they are available. The guy at the arena said prob around Feb. No point in getting them now since the season starts in April and Becks won't be playing till about July!
OMG, can't wait!!

$250 million or not, I am sure they can make back a lot of that through merchandising and such. I expect the attendances will increase too, as will the TV rights deals.

the R&R thing was meant as a joke

honestly, im skeptical about how beckham's transfer will have lasting effects on US soccer especially the MLS. It might have a short-term buzz but that's about it. Let's not forget Pele once played for the New York Cosmos and the league eventually folded. The US is a world power in women's soccer but the women's professional league also folded. Soccer is religion to most parts of the world but in the US it's NFL, MLB, NBA, and NHL. I also hear talks about Zidain and Figo following suit, but come on even if this happens, let's face it were getting players at the ebb of their soccer careers.

Pele'. Are you fucking serious? He is one of the best ever, but there was NO "celebrity" with soccer back then like now. David Beckham will turn US men's soccer into what Michael Jordan did to the NBA. Does Mia Hamm ring a bell? She made women's soccer huge, though not nearly to the level of what Becks is about to do!! Becks already has a soccer academy in California--this sport is about to see a HUGE increase in popularity.

ill believe it when i see it. i wont be surprised if in the end a european team will absorb becks' contract if this mls experiment fails. becks alone wont make mls big, you need more star players to create a competitive league. let's face it, becks hasnt even brought england a world cup not even a european championship.
