| | | He is entitled to his opinion, as is everyone. But I don't see what the big deal is... a child can be raised by same-sex parents.

| | | I'm not sure what you are getting at? There are probably lots of people on this site that share his view that both a having both a mother and father is best, and there are probably lots that think two fathers or two mothers is just as good.
I don't think that the fact that he's gay should be expected to influence his opinion on matters related to child-rearing, which I think is the big story judging by the title of the article. |

| | | My point is that people are going to make a big deal out of the fact that he's gay and he thinks that, for whatever reason, it isn't right for a child to have two parents of the same gender. It'll be funny.
Like how I, as a gay man, think that homosexuality was a choice for me. Heaven forbid I should actually disclose that to any of my gay friends though.
I'm not disclosing my own opinion on the matter or expressing an interest in anyone else's opinion on the matter (I'm smarter than that). |

You're probably right. I don't think most people will be able to seperate the fact that he is gay and thus should hypothetically want the same rights as other parents, from the fact that he may have his own opinions on raising children that really have nothing to do with his sexual orientation. It's an interesting topic. |

I should have had less one glass of wine at the departmental lunch. |

edit: unless it's the 2L bottles they sell at the LCBO for $9. It's better to have less of that. |

For some reason my department (Regulatory Affairs) got lumped in with all of the bigwigs here at head office (HR, Logistics, and the prez), so they went all out for the lunch. Apparently we did more than $2 000 CAD worth of damage between 17 people.
Who wouldn't want to have Gabbana's baby? He's hot. I mean, for a daddy.

I so would have Gabbana's baby...but then the problem of Dolche his ex who lives in the same building as him...i wonder how that works out.
I could see people getting their panties/briefs/whatever they wear in a knot over this too, especially becuase he is gay. But i know gay people who are opposed to gay marriage stating that it is a "heterosexual institution that breeds inequality and ownership of one party over the other".
Everyone no matter their sexuality/race/religion/sex/etc is allowed to have their opinion and it can differ from the opinions of the majorities in the groups that they "belong" to. Mary Cheny is gay and she helped her father run his campaign for the replublican party and she got a lot of flack for it. But it was her choice to support her father and what he believes in.
That being said...John Stamos makes a really hot gay guy... |

| | This topic has been argued within a group of gay friends I have. My best friend who is gay opposes raising a child with 2 same sex parents. He thinks it will f*** up the child. His opinion. But he does want to have his own kids by a surogate mother too. Too complicated of an issue for me.

| | | I am rather conservative in my political views, but I think that having 2 wonderful parents, whether gay or straight, is better than having to live in an abusive, horrible home. I see so many kids who suffer from having an abusive mom or dad (or both). I would rather have 2 moms or 2 dads who loved me than have hetero parents who beat each other and their kids.
A person's sexuality is one of the issues for which I am NOT conservative!!

| | | ^^Thanks! People get so wrapped up in their political views regarding this issue, that they forget to think about the kids involved! I see so many abused, neglected, abandoned children in my line of work--it just makes me sick!!
All kids deserve parents who LOVE them unconditionally!!
