grindhouse.............

just got back from seeing and i thought it was decent. i liked rodriguez's planet terror better then the tarantino death proof, maybe bc it was 1st and i was getting a little ancy during 2nd movie. death proof started a little slow but got better. both had that old school cheesy element though. i guess i am not really used to sitting and watching a movie that long. if u like these directors movies then u should check these out. def not for everyone. had some funny parts, especially the previews before and after planet terror.

I saw the preview for this the last time that I went to the movies. I was completely turned off to it. I thought the woman haveing a shotgun as a leg was a bit stupid but some may like this kind of thing. I have no plans of seeing it but like to hear what others may think about it.

I will hopefully see this tomorrow. I love campy horror films so this should be right up my alley.

The shot gun leg thing indeed seems stupid, but that was the point of Grindhouse films (also known as Exploitation and B movies); gratuitus sexuallity and violence, cheap film (hence the grainy texture you see) and out right, blatant over the top scenarious. They typically sacrifice the traditional notions of artistic merit for a more sensationalistic display, often featuring excessive sex, violence, and gore and are very taboo.

That being said I can't wait to see it and share my thoughts!

Would Sin City be considered a movie like Grindhouse? It had violence, sex galore, and was B & W (but I liked the b&w film)....

I heard they might be splitting the two movies up and re-releasing them seperatly. Aparantly people didn't "get" that when you were going in, you were getting two movies for the price of one and they walking out and getting fidgety and didn't understand what a "Grindhouse" was in general and completely confused.

I finally got to see it. My favorite parts, everything really.

But "She Werewolfs of the SS" and "Don't" were my favorite favorites!

I like the 2nd one better too. It was a little slow to begin with but got really good later. The very last scene is classic!

I liked Kill Bill, although that is as far as my Quentin Tarentino viewing extends. Will I like this?
