Has anyone seen this? It just came out on DVD so we grabbed it at the movie store. I actually enjoyed it ~ Cameron Diaz pretty much played herself (she's like Kevin Costner in that trait), but the rest of the cast was phenomenal!
I loved Kate Winslet's performance; she emoted amazingly well and had you completely believing in her character. Judy Law was very good as well; his character had more depth than I have seen in previous movies he's made. Jack Black toned it down nicely and made the perfect match for Winslet's character.
The show stealer was actually Eli Wallach. He was fantastic in this movie ~ I'd see it again just for his role. Overall The Holiday was a good movie; nothing amazing but definitely worth seeing.

| | I didn't have high hopes for this film, since I really can't picture Jack Black in a romantic role. I was really surprised, and actually really really enjoyed it. Jude Law was better than I have ever seen him, and something else really made the movie for me, that was/are so adorable, but I don't want to give that part of the plot away. Basically I look forward to seeing it again!

| | I am so happy that there is already a thread on this. I just rented it today and was not disappointed. I didn't have high hopes either, considering it was only in the theatres a second (if even that long?), but it was great. I liked that they didn't try and make it a short movie, but let it develop. Jack Black was great in his role (still silly, but not bad at the romantic bits). I would definitely recommend this one!

| | | I'm a sucker for these kinds of films as well. I really enjoyed the holiday but feel that diaz's role would be better played by someone else...I'm not sure what it was, I just didn't think it was a good fit.
