Okay, I've never been in this section before! I love it. I wonder if anyone could help me...

I quit taking birth control pills in November, after almost seven years of being on ortho tri cyclen. But my periods haven't been normal since! I figured there would be some changes, but I've been getting my period every 2-3 weeks. For the past four months. I HATE EVERYTHING.

Does anyone have any experience with this? When will I get back to normal?

your body will regulate itself to it's own cycle within a year. it might be that your cycle is a 2-3 week cycle. My cycle off bc takes about 2 -3 months to show up, but it's a 5-3 cycle (4.5 weeks, .5 week period, 2 weeks, 1 week period) everyone's cycle is a little bit different, and some peoples will come back sooner than others, just have patientence

When I went off BCP I did not have a period for almost a year. I think that was partly due to a major weight loss in that same time frame. I went into a depression and lost way too much weight blah blah blah.

Weird, when I went off 6 years ago my period stayed completely on track, like clockwork and even shorter (3 days) and really light! I guess I'm lucky... sorry, I am of no help whatsoever!

i actually had problems when quitting bcp. i'm back on it again now.

first, it would totally throw off my hormones. i would break out like crazy out of nowhere. it wasn't fun =/ it was horrible, i felt like my body was trying to have two periods in a month. my pill period (it was like dried blood or something, whatever it was it was nasty) and my normal period, which was of course heavy and out of the blue (came every 6-8 weeks).

sorry if it's tmi but this is just waht happened to me. i've always had irregular periods so that's probably why i was having problem #2.
