nuvaring = spotting + horrible cramps

so i'm not too happy with the spotting i've had for about 4-5 days prior to expecting my period. i also suddenly have cramps again (i rarely had any if at all when i was on ortho evra for the last 5 years or so). this blows. has anyone else had this experience? maybe it's just because it's my first cycle on it? i was going to pick up the diva cup this morning, but i've been in bed most the day. i'm not even going to class tonight. bad, i know.

Hmm, do you think you would be able to give it 3 months at the least, if things don't settle down by then, then the nuva isn't right for you. I had no spotting on it but I still had some cramping. I'm happy you got off the patch though, I've read too many bad things about it. Call me if you need to complain about your cramps, I can totally sympathize

I've been on the ring for 2 years now I think and I remember that when I first started it I had a lot of side effects. That only lasted a few months/cycles though and then I was fine. I would stick it out and see how you feel in your 4th month. IMO the convenience factor of nuvaring puts it far ahead of the other methods.

yeah, i'm going to give it another 3 months (total of 4) before i rule it out. the convenience is just so awesome, though. plus, everyone was scaring me about the patch, which i was on for 5 years. the good news about the ring is that on the day my aunt flow was supposed to leave, she did! no extra spotting at the end like the patch. loves it!
