I kinda know how you feel. Over the last 3 years, i have gained 16 pounds (i went from 118 to 134) I LOve my weight around 128 everywhere except for my belly! I dont want to get back down to 118. i do want to be 128ish. However, even when I am 128, I still have a little pooch belly that I do not like!
I just want to loose in my belly!. Im going to try to use weights and work on my abs to see if that helps me.
Good luck!
I have a friend that is in a constant struggle to gain weight. She often seems more frustrated than those trying to lose.

Here is my update: (I never post b/c I don't want to put too much pressure on myself to lose weight)

I have been doing Yoga/Pilates once a week for the past six weeks and walking/jogging a couple times a week. As for diet, I have been watching my portions and eating until 80% full, but not being overly restrictive. My weight has fluctuated by 5 lbs, but I seem to be consistently at least 3 lbs less than when I started. Also, my waist seems flatter, although the measurement hasn't really changed. Overall, I feel healthier (especially with the yoga) and I;m not so deprived that I want to give up!

^ good lord, congrats on that weight loss! I don't know what your original weight was, but 17 lbs in 3 weeks sounds like a lot, make sure you're doing it the healthy way

I'm a fatass:-P I was at 206 but now @ 189lbs.

Yes, I'm doing it the healthy way with no junk food, soda...etc and portion control. I lost a lot of weight this week because of detoxing with the 2 day fast and eating strictly organic fruits, vegetables and rice crackers...and drinking A LOT of water.

Wow that's so awesome for everyone who has lost weight!!! Congratulations!!! Keep it up! I wish I could say the same about me...

I've been so bad guys...I gained 6 pounds and I'm now weighing the most I've ever weighed my entire life...
168 pounds and it doesn't feel good.
I give into my cravings way too easily, and its especially hard since I shop for myself. I need to keep a strong will power and not give into buying any junk food like chips and cookies.
I did work out today, for the first time in a few weeks, and I'm going to work out tomorrow as well.
I have cookies in the pantry and I'm going to throw those away, as well as chocolate from work when we had a "sweet sale" and gave away chocolate with coupons on it.
I love love love love love pasta, so I bought whole wheat pasta that has omega 3 and good fatty acids (I think thats what they are called?) and bought pasta sauce that is low in sodium, sugar, calories, and artificial stuff.

Ok chocolate and cookies have been thrown away!
About a month ago I bought girl scout cookies, but right away gave them to my boyfriend to keep them at his apartment and told him I could only have two cookies for every 5 pounds I loose. That way the temptation isn't sitting there in my room, and I allow myself to indulge, but not too much.

Any motivational tips/advice? Thanks!

i hear that you need to allow yourself a cheat day every so often, obviously NOT TOO often

but if you are forced to eat foods that are tasteless or unappetizing every single day, you will totally fall off the wagon after prolonged periods
i personally think that's why a lot of diets fail

It sounds like you have the right idea. When you make pasta though, add a ton of veggies to the sauce and maybe some soy ground round or actual low fat ground beef or turkey instead of just sauce and pasta, which is not balanced at all.

Keep up with the exercise. Maybe aim for 3 or 4 times a week for the next month. If you're coming from not exercising at all for a while, it will make a big difference.

i have been working out and trying different eating habit for about two years now. each person has their own reaction to different foods. but the bottom line is...if you want to look a certain way, you eat a certain way. if someone wants to lose weight and tone up, then you eat a diet tailored for that affect. bluntly...if you want to lose weight, don't eat junk food. also, exercise on a consistent basis. if you do those two things, you should see results. i understand about will power, but if you are falling off the wagon, you don't want to reach your goal bad enough. i will say that once you have quit eating junk food, after while the craving go away. they even reverse....fast food and unhealthy foods in general gross me out now. Not trying to be harsh, just saying if you want to lose weight, suck it up and do it. if it takes you a month to lose 6-8 lbs....every time you fall off the wagon, you are setting yourself a week, two, three weeks behind. it's tough to lose weight...why mess it up by cheating?

^ I haven't eaten fast food in about 10 years. It totally grosses me out when I see people eating it! By fast food I mean McDonalds, Burger king, Wendy's, KFC etc... I will eat healthy fast food. At Chipotle I get burrito bowls with no rice, just veggies meat, beans, salsa, a little sour cream, and lettuce. Yum, my favorite! If I eat white rice I am hungry again in an hour...

i have been very good with what i eat!
but today i really wanted a krispy kreme doughnut so i got one and shared with bf and it was too yummy. the worst thing is they offered me a free original glazed when i paid. so instead of half, i had about 1 and a half at the end!

bf was very impressed since we were going to share the chocolate one and i ended up having almost both of them!

liz, i'm with you on the fast food thing. when i see people eating it, it grosses me out and makes me a little mad how can people eat that stuff knowing what it's doing to their bodies!? do the people at the burrito place know you by name? "just give me the usual"

Wow Lizm, I wish I could say I haven't eaten fast food in 10years! My kids love chicken nuggets, but I try to limit our McDonald's outings to once a week.

Nsync... that is the best thing to get rid of those things in the house. I basically had to do the same thing. My husband wanted to do it, and my son was really upset, the new guideline is one pack of cookies/chips in the house at a time, and we don't more unless the old stuff is gone. I'm not buying ice cream (which I will hit up every night!) so I only eat it once in a while, and it requires going to an ice cream shop.

My new treat is Straus' plain yogurt with some berries, one spoonful of raw honey and some Kashi Go Lean. If you find high-quality fresh yogurt, it is soooo delicious.

Okay, it's Easter Weekend... everyone be good!

Fast food is something that's easy for me to stay away from...especially since I'm a vegetarian...the only weakness I have is for Taco Bell but even that is like once every 2 or 3 months.

The one problem is I am very picky eater. My boyfriend thinks I'm one of those "super-tasters" or whatever where my taste is heightened. I think that might be true, which makes it even harder for a picky eater to branch out.
I once tried asparagus, for my boyfriend, and it was absolutely disgusting. Well it was more that it didn't have any taste, but the slight taste it did have was not very pleasant for me.

Sooooo, being a picky vegetarian, I only have a few fruits and veggies that I like...carrots, cucumbers, watermelon, apples, and I think that's pretty much it.

No, none of them speak english. They look at my like I am crazy the way I order my lunch... I have several Chipotle locations near me so I don't go to the same one that much. Depends on who I meet for lunch that day. All my friends know that lunch with me means chipotle. I am crazy for chipotle. I am going to try and make my co-workers go there with me today. Hey, it's friday!
