Plan B....

So I just took plan B, and I've taken it a couple times before, so I know what to expect, and maybe its just cuz I've been eating crap today
But my stomach hurts, I think its possibly bloated, but I just feel like shit now....so I can't tell if its cuz of the food or plan b...I think my intestines hurt or something...
Yeah anyways, is there anything I can do to relieve the pain/bloating? I took Tums but I don't think thats for bloating.

oh ok, ya, now i remember. umm that is not good to take a couple of times, you take that once or twice in your life and that is it. I don't think it's good for you.

It should not be used as a birth control method.

1 - There is no proven scientific method that taking multiple instances of Plan B can cause any problems in the future for a woman. It is high levels of BC. In fact certain brands of BC can be used as a subsitute if Plan B is not acessible by taking a certain number of them. (Not condoning, condeming or passing judgement, just stating a fact)

2 - You don't know the womans specific reasons for taking it more than once, accidents happen, mistakes are made. Please don't pass judgement.

And even if you didn't mean to make it sound that way, because it is a computer and you really can't tell tone just from words on a screen, it's a touchy subject and should be handled with utmost ca7ution. (Sorry, activist over here getting off her soap box)

I am going to politely remove myself from this thread. You are the one casting judgements. All I did was pass caution to somoene who might be misinformed that there have been dangers reported of taking this pill.

Do you also take a daily birth control? I've heard Plan B can be really painful. From what I've read, its not meant to be used frequently b/c of the "increasing severity of side effects with frequent use." (wikipedia.com) This is not coming from somebody who is against it either...

I read that also and there are websites that post many side effects that have been reported. I have taken it once, so who am I to cast a judgment. I will say this, it caused me to bleed so badly that I was told to go to the ER by the technicians at Planned Parenthood.

^^ Wow, seriously? Sorry to hear that. I bled normally when I took it. My period also came when it should so I had to wait 2 weeks.

I wasn't going to post on this subject, but if one side can have an ACTIVIST, so can the other.

I completely agree with Marina that Plan B should not be abused or EVER used as birth control--especially if you are having unprotected sex.

Just take the initiative to protect yourself BEFORE you have sex, and you won't need things like Plan B.

As Pro-Lifer's, we have every right to speak our mind and not be harassed for it. We are not passing judgment we are stating our opinion. If it's okay for the Pro-Choicer's to do, it is okay for us to do it.

Both sides of this issue have their own set of "facts" and propaganda so all opinions matter.

Some people tak necessary precautions..and this is just one of them. Accidents happen. Condoms may break. Having unprotected sex just because you can take Plan B is another thing.

I would take plan b if something happened, but i would not use it regularly, for some people it can be verydamaging, and i am scared f that.

IMO it is better to take plan B than end up with a child you are not ready to have.

I think Shoprincess was just being concerned reagrding the original poster's health- not being preachy. As for Lawgal, I always find myself silently agreeing with your opinions on many posts, so I guess I'm just saying so now. Anyway, aren't we all on the same side here? Women with reproductive choices and concerns for one another?

I apologize to you for also sounding like I was passing judgment. I seriously didn't mean to do that. I am sorry my words came across so harshly and I never meant to be rude or mean. Please accept my apology.

Ok, none of us want to draw conclusions why people take Plan B, all that I was intending was to send out a "oh, that is scary that you have taken it a few times, do you know that it can be dangerous."

Many times people don't get told all of the effects of a drug by their doctor, I am the indisputable result of this and I have suffered the consequences. My intention was to caution, I may have sounded a little preachy but it's a risk that is worth taking.

I fully support every side having activists to speak for them. I was NOT, repeat, NOT trying to harass ANYONE because that's something I would never want to do to anyone, especially here. Things happen and it's a very split subject - which is why I apologize for coming across sounding rude, which was not my original intent.

I am fully prochoice, I support your choice that as woman you can do whatever you want with your body, and no one should tell you otherwise. In the long run, we are all women who want to best possible out come for our reproductive health and again I apologize for sounding high and mighty when I was just trying to help.

I appreciate your apology, I don't feel like you were being mean at all! I wasn't trying to push my political ideology or anything, although yes I am pro-life. More the fact that there have been reported serious side effects with the continued use of Plan B. Whether or not they are a threat to Sophia, I do not know, I prefer to be cautious and informed. No worries at all!

Thanks for the info, i was looking for something like that...IMO, doctors don't always tell you the side effects of medications + this is something you can get over the counter so some people might not know that they are not supposed to take it all the time.
I do agree that you never know someone's situation - condoms are only 95% or so effective when used properly and many women cannot use hormonal birth control. In this case, its best to combine condom use with the rhythm method and avoid having sex on the "high risk" days. (of course this ruins the spontaneity of having sex on those days if you feel like it.) All I know is I've heard so many horror stories about mood swings/depression on B.C. plus I get menstrual migraines and those are supposed to get worse when you take B.C., so I am one of the few people who have never used it. All I know is that my bf is getting snipped sometime in the future.

How weird that I just decided to come to this section for the first time today...

Condom leaked last night. I don't *think* anything got inside me, just on me. I have an emergency contraception pill. I thought about taking it, but was scared to because of the side-effects. Should I take it, or am I more than likely okay?

Sorry for the hijack.
