need some help/advice

I want to start working out, I don't have access to a gym but I do have some videos, a treadmill and fit tv which i can record shows on my DVR.

What i need is some motivation to actually do it. Just wanting to isn't helping me much because I start of doing pretty well, but I can't seem to stick to it. Any help or advice on how to keep on track is greatly appreciated.

Hey, I am the same way. No good gyms in my small town and I have a really hard time getting motivated.

The only thing I can think of is to set a time however many days a week you would like to do something, make a schedule. If we can follow class schedules in school and we can remember and bring ourselves to brush our teeth twice a day or clean the house or whatever then we can set aside 30 minutes or more to exercise. It just has to become part of your daily/weekly routine, like everything else. So, let's say you have a favorite show(s) you watch each evening or every other evening at 8 pm. During that show you play on the treadmill. Or whatever time...

All that being said, I can't seem to get it done! I wish I had a really cool gym in my town and some girlfriends to go with. That would do it for me for sure. Oh well! Hey, Good Luck!!!!!

I motivated myself by buying a pair of jeans two sizes two small and trying them on every week or so...I didn't think I was getting smaller but as they started to fit I realized I was so it was helpful (I could barely get them past my knees at first, now they are almst too big to wear). That worked for me...

And my mom motivated herself by renting TV shows on DVD and only watching them when she used her treadmill. She watched the whole series of the Sopranos this way, and I thinks she's started watching something else now.

I'm not really trying to change my size, just my fitness level. I want to be toned like I used to be. I used to ride horses daily, and mucked stalls daily as well. I have been far removed from that part of my life for some time now and feel that it really kept me in good shape. I can't just go out and get a horse, so I need to force myself to be more active. I like the scheduling thing..I just start thinking about having to change clothes and decide not too....

I think I need someone to make me stay accountable and motivate me.

Mucking out stalls is good exercise! (I do it 5x/week!)

You should join sparkpeople.com (there's an HF biggest losers team) to help you with getting a routine going-- I get motivated by getting points for activity.

I also blocked in time for exercise- it's part of my routine, like going to work. Once I did that, I started sticking to it.
