| | | How to lose leg muscles I guess it is genetics, but i just have muscular legs! and i hate that, its worse than fat! i want to lose weight, and i used to be able to do 300 situps a night (its actually not even close to being a lot after you start to build up the amount after a week) and ive been getting majorly lazy. the only thing i like to do is run and stairs. but i dont want bigger legs muscles. anyway to lose them? plus, i think im started to get muscular thighs, not good at all
i just think they look bulkier.

| | | Muscular legs are awesome! I sometimes freak over mine too though so I do get where you are coming from, but if you stop exercising to lose the muscle, then you'll just get fat and despite what you say, muscle is not worse than fat! Toned legs look nice and sexy. I hate my calves but guys complement them a lot - guys like some shape. |

| | | ^What he said. I lost about all of my leg muscle from sitting around and doing nothing for two months. But I liked it, and am working on getting it back.

| | Yeah I know how you feel...
I have ginormous calves... like serious soccer player calves.. and I don't do any type of excercise really. Mostly stretches yoga type stuff.
I don't even want to know what they'd look like if I started running a lot.
sometimes you just can't best genetics. |

| | | Maybe eliminate stairs and just do running.
Or embrace the muscularity of your legs! It's the the biggest calorie burner (I think.) I'm very jealous of those with shapely muscular legs and I work out very hard (against my genetics) to try to make my legs look better.

| | | Hey everyone! This is my first post on AF as i am new.
Ah it pains me to read this thread. I for one have learned alot about loss of leg muscle. I tore a ligament and got an avulsion fracture....badly sprained ankle, playing tennis about 6 weeks ago.
One sure fire way to lose muscle is to not use it. Ive lost a ton of muscle definition in my leg that has the sprained ankle because i had to be on crutches for a month. It works.
I would also have to say be thankful for what youve got. id love to have the muscle tone back but i understand where you are coming from. hope this helped. |

| | | Try Pilates. It makes for longer leaner muscles. I tend to bulk easily too but I love the look I get from Pilates. |

They are actually very different. Yoga is more holding poses for extended periods of time and works more on flexibility. Pilates is a lot more repetetive movements aimed to work the muscle but make it long & lean and give you a stronger core. In my Pilates class at the gym we do a lot of crunches, leg lifts and other leg exercises on the floor, back extensions, things like that. My abs & legs have never looked better. It's hard to explain Pilates until you try it, and my muscles KILLED after my first class but it gets better after that and things start shaping up! | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
