Angels and Demons

I haven't seen a thread on this book yet, even though it's a few years old. This is the first non-textbook I've been able to read in years, and whoa! I only have a handful more pages left, and I pretty much love it. Anyone else read it?

I liked it, I've read all of Dan Brown's books. Angels and Demons was much better than the Da Vinci Code

I thought it was pretty good. And I agree with Smokin Ace, it is written much better than The Da Vinci Code. If you like Angels and Demons, you should trying reading some of Steve Berry's books. They are very similar. My favorite is the Romanov Prophecy

I've read it as well. I enjoyed it more than Da Vinci Code but less than Digital Fortress (I'm a nerd though so the techno-thriller stuff was awesome for me). Dan Brown got really famous after DVC hit it big as a result of all the controversy, but honestly, he's an average thriller writer. If you ask me he's obviously struggling to write his new book because DVC came out in 2003 sometime and here it is 5 years later and still no book? You think he'd be riding his popularity all the way to the bank. Most major authors release a book a year so it seems pretty fishy to me he's taking such an extended vacation if there weren't good reason for it.

If you like Dan Brown you may want to check out Barry Eisler's John Rain series (awesome locales and action) and/or James Rollins' Sigma Series which are kind of like Dan Brown's books with more gadgets and about the same number of historical clues and references. Another author to pursue is Matthew Pearl who wrote a fictional novel based upon Dante's Inferno. Sorry in advance about all the threadcrap

I've read all of Dan Brown's books also and I liked Angels & Demons.

Digital Fortress was a good fast read too.

Decoysteve & VirginiaM....thanks for the suggestions. I like these type of tech thrillers too.

i still like The Da Vinci Code better than Angels & Demon... although A&D definitely has a crazier story, i enjoyed the puzzles in Da Vinci code MUCH more!

Ditto, I read it before Da Vinci Code, and couldn't figure out what all the fuss was about. It's a gppd entertaining read.

Digital Fortress was okay, but if you liked that well enough, the Blue Nowhere is awesome.

I read this book before the da vinci code and I liked it better.

They were filming the movie at the UCLA campus over the summer! I'm excited for it to come out

A&D is definitely the best of Dan Brown's books, a lot better than Da Vinci Code for me. Too bad both movies were boring.
