Dont read it, just dont, on page 130ish, and let me tell you, not one single sentence in there, well maybe one, and no dialogue marks, and no breaks when different charachters are speaking, and the main charachter is a twisted bastard, wants to do his dead brother's wife. Not a good book, and it's hard for me to say that!

you should read her short story "Where are You Going, Where have You Been". i love it!

I'm a huge Oates fan...No denying she's DARK, though.
Try "Because it is bitter and because it is my heart".
Or, if you're in the mood for something dark, "Zombie", which is loosely based on accounts of Jeffery Dahmer's life/habits.
