| | I was going to buy that the other day...I knew it probably ends with him losing Marley ...I always hate that part...I want to read it but don't know if I want the 'Old Yeller' syndrome( hysterical sobbing at the dogs passing)
I hate that accompanying crying headache that occurs after the syndrome...
Tell us about it Shelley..maybe I will break down and buy it.

| | | It is very sad at the end.
SPOILER ALERT - Marley does pass away due to old age. He doesn't suffer a tragic death, which makes it a little easier. It will make you cry. I just kept telling myself that he had a long happy life!! |

| | I read the book last year and really loved it. As an owner of two big and jolly golden retrievers I could definitely relate to parts of the book. I think it is more tearful if you have had a dog and Marley reminds you of that animal. It's a great book. It basically follows the owners through the trials of their lives and how Marley was an impact in each step of the way. I recommend it! There are a lot of laughs here.

Tell us about it Shelley..maybe I will break down and buy it. | I've got that same issue ~ I have the book in-hand, but I haven't started to read it because it just brings up the possibility that Marley will die at the end, and THAT brings up the pain of having to put my pup down two years ago. I know that's silly, but I still get choked up about it. |

| | I just reminded myself that Marley had a great life. You won't read this book without crying! Trust me! But it's still a great book

| | | It definitely makes you cry but only because I can't imagine losing my psycho lab mix! It was a really good book and I bet I'll have enough crazy stories as Lucy gets old to write my own. |

| | | I loved this book. After I summarized it for my husband (not a reader...you know what they say about opposites attracting) he said it reminded him of his childhood dog. And what do you know, he actually read part of the book...

| | I read this like a week after I had to put Lucy, my yellow lab, down & I swear this book absolutely broke my heart. Not the smartest reading choice, considering the timing - but really good!

| | It was a good read however not my fave format of book. I cried near the end also. Having a lab myself I could relate to a lot of things he wrote about some of which made me laugh out loud. Quote:

Back on topic: I'm so not reading that book. I hate bad endings.

My mom loooooves this book, and she just bought me a copy of it for Christmas. Can't wait to read it.
