Please help me find a good book

I need something to read. I really like Ann Rice books but she has put nothing out lately. I kind of like scary or mystery type books. Any suggestions?

For something in the vein of Anne Rice (pun fully intended), check out Poppy Z. Brite. There are two novels. One is called Lost Souls, and I can't remember the name of the other. You'll like them, if you like Anne Rice.

I anything by Stephen King or Dean Koontz. One of SK's sons put a book out a few months ago called Blaze, that was really good. It was published under the name Joe Hill(his name is actually Joseph Hillstrom King).

Errrr, I messed up in my last post. Blaze was actually SK, written under Richard Bachman. The one his son wrote is called Heart-Shaped Box.

Agreed!

Also, Stephen King. Hands down my favorite fiction author. Read the uncut editon of "The Stand"- it'll scare the crap out of you!

When I find a good book, it's hard for me to put it down! I spent about an hour of my son's nap today reading.

if you like the vampire thing then I HIGHLY recommend Laurell K. Hamilton, the Anita Blake series, there are like 15 now. and they get thicker and thicker, I love it!

anyhoo, they are fantastic, also Sherilyn Kenyon, and there is one other, when I remember her name I will post again.

There's an older book by Stephen King and Peter Straub callled The Talisman...kind of a fantasy/horror sort of novel that I really liked a few years back...it sounds like it might be up your alley.
