| | | J. Patterson Book Club-- NEW BOOK! So, I know that we have a bunch of James Patterson fans out there...
I received the James Patterson newsletter today, a new book has been released : Step on a Crack. It features a character which is to be a recurring figure in more novels.
Anyway, just wondering if there was an interest out there:
Whoever is interested should get the book and rwe'll all read section by section and have a lil AF book chat about what we think is to happen, etc, etc.
Any interest? It could be fun!!!!! I've never really done a book club before.

| | I James Patterson!! Is this an Alex Cross novel? I haven't checked my email today so I know I have that newsletter in there! I am pumped!!
The only problem I have with a section by section book club is that once I pick a JP book, I CAN'T PUT IT DOWN!! I can usually finish one in 4-6 hours!!

He is a new character (name I can't remember) . I got from the email that he will be the main character in a new series like Lindsay and Alex.

Say the book is 200 pages, so we read the first 25, etc.???? |

| | | What is this book about? Do I need to read books before this one to follow the storyline? I've never read one his books.

| | | ^this is going to be the start of a new series! so no, but even with the previous cross series, you wouldn't need to, he fills you in a bit as he goes along, and they aren't super revelant to one another, just have the same person in them.

I'll go buy the book today and try and separate it into (thirds or fourths???? or some other fraction)

| | That sounds great. I got mine today. I couldn't help myself.... and I read the prologue. It is AWESOME. Hopefully a preview of how great the book will be. Wednesday sounds good to me too. The book has a prologue + 116 chapters. How do you want to split it up?
Option A: Half- Proglogue-Ch 80. Ch-80-end.
Option B- Read the whole thing
Option C: Quarters- Chapters Prologue-29, 29-58,58-87, 87-end.
Option D: Anything anyone else can recommend. I'm up for whatever is best for everyone else. I'm flexible and don't mind!

| | | Hmmm. I am not sure how to split it up. If I can stay off the FORUM I can read more!!!! How many pages are the chapters on average? I can usually swing 20-30 chapters a night if I don't start on a Saturday morning or something! Then, I usually finish by the early evening!

| | I saw a commercial about the book last night--it really looked like a movie trailer! The main character is a hostage negotiator so I am not so sure I am gonna love him as much as Alex and Lindsay. But I will definitely give him a try!!
