Question Does anyone here listen to audio-books?

I love reading. But here lately I haven't really had alot of time to do this, so I started buying the audio-books!! I am so addicted to these now (& I also got my boss hooked on them). I listen to them in the car & at home while I'm cleaning, sewing, ect. I look so foward to getting in the car to hear more of my story!!

I was just wondering if anyone here listened to them too? And also, is there a sub-forum or something where we can trade books/audio-books?

Some of the audio's I get are $20-$30 (except New Moon/Twilight, which was a whopping $47)

Yes! I actually love listening to audiobooks. I tend to listen to them while I'm just doing stuff around the house, wroking on my car, etc but I'll listen to them on long drives too. Currently I'm listening to Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell, which is a solid 40 hours long or so.

Love them on road trips. Just finished Worlds Without End. Hours and hours, and kept me intrigued the whole time. The reader makes the book. Some of them have soothing (read: boring) voices, and they put me to sleep. Bad when driving.

ITA. I have listened to a couple that I had to grit my teeth b/c the voice was so...well, annoying! But after I get caught up in the story, I usually forget about the voice

My commute is 2 hrs a day, M-F, so I grab one when I can. My local video store rents audio books! I also like them for the gym, but have yet to add one to my I-pod, and god knows I can't bring my portable CD player to the gym any more, I would be laughed otta there!

While I was prepping for the Spanish AP test, I listened to a few audiobooks like 100 Years of Solitude by Gabriel Garcia Marquez. It was really difficult understanding all the words, but it definitely prepared me for the test. I listened to it before bed and in the car.
