Same Kind of Different As Me
by Ron Hall and Denver Moore
Autobiographical story about how a wealthy, jet-setting art dealer and his wife cross paths with a homeless, former slave in Louisiana. Underlying themes are slavery in modern-day American, Faith, homelessness, etc. This is a true story and has been optioned for a screenplay with the movie set to debut in Spring of 2010.
I had heard from several people that this book was "life-changing." I didn't believe it and wondered through the first 40 chapters, when my life would be changed. My question was answered starting at chapter 44. I won't say anymore, but this book is profound with life lessons, experiences, etc. AFTER
you finish the book, check out the website at Same Kind of Different as Me
and find the photographs. If you cheat and go to the site first, you will ruin the book!! Enjoy and have your tissues handy when you get to chapter 44!
