| | | Laser Hair Removal I'm finally going in next week and getting laser hair removal on my legs, underarms and bikini line. Has anyone done it in these areas? I'm wondering how many session it will take to get rid of all the hair? and then will I just have to go back maybe yearly for upkeep? This is what the Dr. who is going to do it told me but I'm skeptical. |

| | | yup it takes a few sessions until the hair is so thin it doesnt grow anymore. my friend did 1 session, and the hair grew back. GOODLUCK, it would be great to have bare underarms for years!!! Bikini line too!

| | | I got it done, and it depends on your hair....I dont have much and its really thin so I think it was like 4 sessions for me, but on the average I was told ppl have like 5-8.....Its the best investment ever! Loved it! Im so happy with the results!

| | I needed 7 sessions for bikini line, and still have a few stray hairs (I think they were too light). It was two years ago and a few darker ones seem to turn up again now.

| | | I really wish I could get this done, I'm so allergic to shaving and I'm acquiring more scars on my legs from the cuts and aggravated pores. |

| | | i would do this in a heartbeat if i had the $ - my hair is dark and fairly thick so it would take me several sessions. i hate shaving all the time so after i get a real job this is something i want to invest in.
just fyi, i read that you should not go to a tanning salon or someplace like that for laser even though its cheaper. |

| | | I got it done on the bikini line and LOVE the results.
I felt it hurt a *lot*, but I have a very low pain threshold.
It does hurt less every time I go back.
I also get over-the-counter benzocaine/lidocaine/whatevercaine you can find, put it on, put plastic wrap over it then sit for 15 minutes (I wear it to the place, then take it off in the bathroom.) They will give you stronger anesthetic cream but I found I need both.
It took about 4 or 5 treatments for me, and it's still not all gone; I have very course thick hair tho. Very little redness or irritation more than an hour after the treatment.
Good luck!

| | | It kind of stung but wasn't a whole lot of pain. Hopefully it will work and the hair will stay gone. I have to go back in 6 weeks for another session. |

| | I tried it for ~ 5 or 6 sessions on tops of feet, from belly button to bikini line, and a few strays on my chin (I'm dark haired, dark eyed...) and it didn' work
Now I'm doing electroylsis on the face, but it hurt way too bad to do stomach/feet, so I guess I'll be back to waxing again....BOO!!!!
I think it didn't work b/c my pores are apparently really deep??

| | Omg! It didn't work anywhere???????? That's crazy. Its supposed to work. Did they tell you to try a different kind of laser? They told me there are different lasers that can work differently on different people. I feel bad for you that it didnt work. I hope that doesn't happen to me |

It could have been that the staff wasn't trained or they didn't have an appropriate laser for your skin and hair. |

| | I did it at a dermatologist's office, so I'm guessing she was properly trained b/c that's about all she does - she said they laser they have now is the "new" kind, should've worked, but everyone's different....
Maybe it would've "taken" after a few more sessions, but that crap hurt!! And, electrolysis is a sure thing, so now they are doing it all for free (as much as I can take - HA! it hurts, too!!) Ahhh....the things we do for beauty!!
