Okay, I am indeed having an updo done. However, it is only because my dress is backless (somewhat) and there is so much detail on the straps I don't want that to be covered by my hair. But also, my dress is long and black and gorgeous, but very, very formal, so I was wanting something kind of messy to contrast with it. Help! my hair is medium length, red, and naturally wavy.

pretty much I want something a little bit messy to offset how formal I am going to be dressed. I would look like a stuffy old woman with a french twist lol. Anybody else have any pictures they would like to share? Input, please? I really want everything to look perfect.

I must confess I'm here to kill the pain.

I do a messy updo often for everyday, and they're quite easy, esp. if you have wavy hair like me... it'll stay put much better. I roll my hair into a messy bun and stick bobby pins around it to hold it up. Looks a lot of #2. Experiment!!

I like 1 & 2.

I've tried messy buns but can't quite master it. What's the secret?

Another vote for the Eva. It's natural and feminine, but not "I spent all my money on my dress and just threw my hair together myself" messy.
