| | | can someone PLEASE tell me how to get mascara to STOP SMUDGING?? i swear, i have tried so many dang mascaras and i have NOT found one that within 2 hours doesn't leave marks under my eyes that resemble me just waking up in my leftover mascara. i even just bought benefit's bad gal lash with high hopes... but sadly, it smudges too. (though i do like that it stays soft like full & soft does.) i just find that i am constantly rubbing under my eyes to clean away the messiness. i don't put mascara on my lower lashes at all. i've tried waterproof, too. i'm not a big fan of mascaras that get rock hard but i need some suggestions please!
i have relatively long and very straight lashes, they are blonde at the tips. so i like mascaras that do it all: make them fuller, longer and separated! (and i use shiseido curler)
any advice? TIA!

| | | i've tried tons of different mascaras and every single one of them clumped up and made my eyes hurt. finally i tried clinique double lash and i love it - no clumping and my eyelashes are way longer. i've also heard DiorShow is really good. |

| | i haven't tried diorshow yet, but i also heard that that can clump, too. i guess you just have to comb it out is all.

| | | I love Maybelline Great Lash Waterproof Mascara for my bottom lashes. I just make sure to look up when I apply it. I also use (and LOVE) NuColour Defninig Effects Mascara for my upper lashes. The tips of my lashes are also blonde and this one does a great job defining them without clumps or hardness. I highly recommend both mascaras!

| | hmmmm. i have tried the maybelline one that has the lash primer, but i found that when it dried, it was harder to apply the mascara coat because my lashes were so stiff! and i have never heard of nucolour, i'll have to look into it. getting my lashes tinted is an idea, too...

| | | make sure your lashes are really clean. use a mild soap and cleanse that area first. I was having that trouble a lot, when I was using liquid eye makeup, and it was coating my lashes causing the mascara to flake off really easy.

| | | I am loving the Chanel Imitable these days but if my eyes get watery it will smudge a little. I would try the Dior Show but get the waterproof. It will keep your lashes soft and full looking without being clumpy or too heavy. Go to the makeup counters and ask for samples or maybe just try it there and see if you like it first. |

hmmm keri.... this may be an idea. i ususally put two coats of mascara on, i wonder if the top coat flakes off? i'll try one coat next time.
and charla, i think diorshow will be my next mascara purchase, as well.

| | | Do you put powder underneath your eyes? I find that helps, because oil from concealer and such can attract smudges from mascara. |

| | aaah.. i thought about the powder thing but i don't like putting powder around my eyes... i hear doing that makes the wrinkles (that are starting to form, GAH!! ) stand out!!! yikes!!!
and the wrinkles are probably from the years of rubbing under my eyes...

| | 1 more vote for DiorShow waterproof! LOVE IT!
I used to use Lancome's waterproof one, and I never had smudgy problems... it was REALLY hard to get off (using makeup remover). |

| | DIORSHOW WATERPROOF! and since i have oily skin, i top off with a coat of benefit's shelac (i think that's how it's spelled); it's a makeup sealer, so it keeps my lashes smudge free

| | Maybe you should try Maybelline Unstoppable? http://www.maybelline.com/products/p...spx?prodid=238
It says that it can resist smudging for up to 12 hours. Its the latest Maybelline product in Singapore, so it should be available in the US already. |

| | | I vote for Bobbi Brown's mascara! And you should definitely use a mascara primer - i had that smudging problem until i tried a primer and it did wonders. Bobbi Brown has a primer that goes along with the mascara, but i prefer to use this one from a Korean brand, Missha - it's really quite good!
