You could try a hot compress to see if you could bring it to the surface, but if they were anything like the cysts I got they never surfaced but stayed completely under the skin.
I had one so big and so red on the right side of my forehead when I was pregnant that I actually cut bangs to hide it. |
Yup. Ice & ibuprofen help temporarily, but other than that, you're stuck unless you can get a shot.
I get 2-3 of these a month (i've got 3 right now, it's that special time!) and they suck. I hate how much they stick out. |

| | | I was getting one after another it seemed and they were damn painful, very depressing too as i felt i never had even a short period of time with clear skin. The doctor put me on Erythromycin, said that those kind of cystic pimples that never rise to the surface are from bacteria under the skin. Only way to keep them under control is with antibiotics. Today (dammit) is the first one i've had in about 4 weeks.

| | It's comforting to know that there are many people suffering from cystic acne. A lot of my friends have pretty much perfect skin so I always feel self-conscious with my battleground of a face, haha.
I have a large scab over Zitler. I will try not to peel it off. I'll have to wait it out, but how do you apply concealer over a flaky scab. I guess I can't.
Thanks for your advice/sympathy, everyone. BTW, I think I already mentioned this, but Neosporin does wonders for scars and healing acne! Just a tip every acne-prone person should know. |

My roomie convinced me to pop it with her Tweezerman extracting thing. IT WAS EPIC. I was looking forward to the odd satisfaction of seeing the yellow pus splatter all over the mirror, but not much yellow crap came out. Most was really dark blood and some yellowish-clear liquid. Maybe I popped it wrong. Lol, why am I telling you guys this.
I applied some Neosporin to help it heal and lessen scarring and slept with a bandaid over my nose. The swelling has gone down by a lot! It's almost flat, and there's a small scab. I'm just hoping the scarring isn't too bad, with the help of Neosporin.
The frozen eyedrop remedy sounds interesting, I'll try it next time. Thanks for the tip, geebs.
ZITLER IS ON HIS WAY OUT. Woohoo! | Neat!!!
Another thing that can help is alternating Tazorac gel and BHA gel every two hours. Of course only if you have Tazorac anyway.

| | Rub a bit of DMSO on it and the skin around it, maybe 3 or 4 times a day. It should disappear in a couple of days. DMSO is a solvent, and it will sting and itch a bit after you apply it. Don't get it in your eyes.
DMSO works really well to make the nasty stuff causing the zit dissipate and get reabsorbed by your body. The sooner you catch an incipient zit, the better/faster it will work. It's also good on bruises and bad insect bites or stings.
Here's a link that tells you more about this good stuff. I wouldn't be without it, it's as essential to my medicine cabinet as aspirin. DMSO,Dmso Cream,Dmso Gel,Liquid Dmso,Dmso Roll on,Dmso with Aloe Vera,Pure Dmso,Buy Dmso

| | see family doctor and get referral to cosmetologist, i had zit/acne that never went away and i mean like 2-3 years. in my case was because my mom bought me some asian sunscreen, like a milky one to stay pale, but she didn't know there was oil in it and the oil drowned my pores, my cosme said i have to get my nose skin professionally "scrubbed off" otherwise its not gonna go away no matter what i use. he also recomm neutrogena, and now i use everything from wash lotion toner to make up neutrogena, oil free i don't have that problem anymore but i stilllll gotta get my nose "scrubbed off" it costs moonay. yours may look like a zit but it can be skin infection, like if you always touch your nose while hands are dirty (air's dirty to begin with) so yeah. |

| | ^^ Oil does not clog pores/ cause acne, nor does oil-free not do it. Oil cannot "drown" your pores. The sunscreen filters in the sunscreen broke you out. Your "cosme" urgently needs to get a new job where she can't spread such idiocies.
Check zerozits.com for a list with comedogenicity rating. And have a look at Paula Begoun - The Cosmetics Cop - Paula's Choice to clear up some myths (like non- comedogenic as a label on cosmetics...).

| | | ^ for the site but i just read the oil free article and she says this "On the other hand, not all oils clog pores." so that means SOME do no? and my comsetologist is a well known referral. |

| | Some oil can clog pores badly. For example vitamin e oil.
Your "cosmetologist" tells you bull, whatever her reputation is, sorry. She's just out to make a buck, or she wouldn't make you come back to get your nose "scrubbed off", instead of referring you to some effective BHA products, or if that fails, rx retinoids.

| | So Vitamin E does clog pores , I just got some Ultra Emu with Natural Vit E and I noticed I'm breaking out...damn it! Nevermind, the Emu oil I used before had Vit E in it also, I think it is because I've been chemically exfoliating too much, better cut it back
