| | | Paula's Choice 1% BHA Lotion My skin is dryish, so I ordered the lotion. I hope I didn't make a mistake in ordering the 1% instead of the 2%. Does anybody have the 1% and had good results? I ordered a ton of stuff from her, I hope I like it all!

| | | If that doesn't work for you, I have dry skin and I use philosophy's amazing grace firming body emulsion after I get out of the shower and it does wonders for me! It keeps me from peeling as bad.

| | To start, the 1% lotion is okay. Though most people prefer the 2% liquid (including me).
If you can, grade up after a few weeks and use the lotion up on arms and legs.
Edited to say the liquid is not drying, has no alcohol, and you'd use it in AM under sunscreen anyway. Just make sure you wear a stable sunscreen with a good PPD (UVA protection). The best one is the Neutrogena Dry Touch SPF55 (PPD over 12). The other Neutrogenas are not stable.

| | | I use Paula's Choice sunscreen, too. I thought I would use the BHA at night, though. Steps being cleanse, tone, bha, benzoyl peroxide. then in the morning, tone, sunscreen. that's what I do now, just my BHA product wasn't cutting it-it was liquid and I decided to try something different.

This means that they have to be reapplied at least every two hours, better hourly, as after one hour the protection goes rapidly downhill. More info on makeupalley.com, check the sunscreenFAQ notepad. Sadly, Paula is totally wrong regarding avobenzone, and refuses to talk about this even when confronted with scientific evidence for it in interviews.

| | Also good info here: http://www.emedicine.com/derm/topic510.htm
And on essentialdayspa.com, biochemistryofbeauty.com.
Regarding the amount of s/s you need to get the SPF on the label: this was tested using 1/4 of a teaspoon for face only. Which is reeeaaally a lot if you measure it! Anything less and there's no way to say how much protection you get (using half of the required amount doesn't mean you still get half the protection).
