tipping question

So I purchased a groupon for 6 laser hair removal sessions. Is this type of service something that should be tipped on? And if so do you tip each session or when all the sessions are complete? And what is an appropriate amount? I've usually been told to tip a percentage of the original cost and not the discounted cost but on something this pricey does that still apply?

NO You do not need to tip them if done at a Dr.'s office.
I wouldn't tip them at all. You've paid for your services, which I'm sure were
still pretty pricey and you never tip the owner of a salon or spa. Tipping is at your discretion completely. It seems everywhere you go these days someone has their hand out, I resent it. Especially in this economy.

mrsblue, apparently you've never had to pay for the education to be able to obtain a license to be able to provide those services. Tipping is always appreciated no matter what. The cost of the services are rarely (if ever) seen in the paycheck of those providing the service.

You definitely want to tip if you purchased a groupon or any sort of deal. $10 per treatment would be an appropriate amount.
MRSBLUE- FYI do you realize the owners of the salon/spa are the ones paying for all the products and equipment. They do not make a ton of money which is obviously what you think since they are the business owner. Also when you buy a groupon or something the salon/spa makes virtually nothing and the tech gets shafted on the amount of commission she'd normally make.
Spas and salons do these for advertisement and to bring people in to try their services, however sad to say most of the people that buy them never come back and move on to the next cheap deal for the most part.
