Is there anything that can make hair grow faster?

I've heard Biotin & Prenatal Vitamins. Is there anything out there that you've had great results with?

Hot oil treatment, in particular promotes proper circulation required to stimulate the scalp. You just need to gently rub your fingers through the scalp in circular motion for a few minutes.

Moreover, application of oils such as rosemary oil, olive oil, coconut oil etc provides necessary nourishment to the scalp. Before applying the oil of your choice, heat it in microwave for about 30 seconds.

Kateann, member above me just wants you to buy a lace wig. Seriously, none of us will buy one of your wigs.....sorry! Try a different forum.

Prenatals don't work for me, hair, skin, & nails pills don't either. I've also tried silica. Nothing works for me. Let me know if you find a wonder pill!

i don't know if you've checked here, but there is a long hair forum that is kind of interesting to browse.

i've been working on my hair for about a year and a half. i try to lay off the heat implements as much as possible (but i love my hair straight so i flat iron a couple times a week) and i have been taking "healthy skin hair and nail" supplements and i think fish oil, antioxidants and prenatals may have helped too

also, in the past 6 months i don't use shampoo anymore, i switched to "Wen" or the sally's brand "hair one" and i don't use any silicone product on my hair anymore.

so finally in the past 4 months my hair is noticeably thicker, healthier and grown faster than it has in about 15 years. or maybe its just because it's spring but i'm happy and even my hairdresser was shocked

Viviscal is supposed to be "the" new hair growth tablet.

Buy Viviscal Extra Strength Hair Nutrient Tablets online at CVS.com

^ It is, but it also has fish oil in it - which I discovered when I tasted it out of the bottle. It tastes fine blended into my coffee or lemonade, though.

I used to have very long, thick, beautiful hair. Medication and surgery have done a number on my used-to-be wonderful locks. I'll give this bottle a try and go from there.

I take Viviscal and didn't comment in this thread because I'm not so sure it actually does a thing. LOL. I've taken it since January and haven't noticed any significant growth, really. Nothing outside of normal anyhow.

Yeah, that's what I have been seeming to find the more I have been researching.

Edited for pathetic grammar.

Aside from addressing nutritional deficiencies, there isn't anything that has been shown to make hair grow faster.

What has been shown is that marketing products claiming to do so will generate a large amount of revenue.

biosil's claim to fame is choline-stabilized orthosilicic acid (a silica) is that the same thing as biotin?

i don't know anything about the viviscal, but the manufacturer states it takes at least 6 months and since you've already tried it for four months maybe give it a few more i'd love to know if it does anything for you i swear it was over a year before i saw any difference from taking the hair skin and nail vitamins

Vik well i've still got the Biosil on my list of things to get tomorrow marketing and capitalism at it's best there does seem to be some actual double blind random placebo studies on it's active ingredient "choline-stabilized orthosilicic acid" and apparently it even has benefits to help prevent osteoporosis i'm going to add it to my biotin supplement and hope for the best

To me, it's all the same. Just brand names. You can buy Silica and biotin vitamins for much cheaper or just take the hair, skin, & nails vitamins because it has all of those things in it.

Are you wanting to make hair grow faster or make it stronger? Or is it that the second makes the first easier to achieve because you won't have to cut it?

I'm genuinely curious as to why anyone would want their hair to grow faster? I can understand if you recently got an awful haircut or something, but otherwise...? My hair grows way too fast and I hate having to get it cut/dyed all the time.

Mine only grows the amount that I need trimmed

But Erica you have long hair, so it is probably just that your hair is at the end of its life cycle and cannot get any longer. I bet if you cut it short it would grow back no problem. Some people's hair dies before it can even get long, so they think it's not growing when actually that's just as long as it gets.

As of right now, I am DYING for my hair to grow faster, but I know it's just a matter of time.

For those of you who haven't gone through the joys of pregnancy or post-pregnancy, all your hair falls out post-pregnancy. I am not joking when I say that about 1/4 to 1/3 of my hair just fell out over the course of 6 months. It started growing back around Thanksgiving. But, for the longest time, I had 1-inch strands of baby hairs just sticking up all over my head, and it drove me crazy. I barely had enough hair to cover the bald spots! But, since then, the hairs are now all about 3-4 inches long, so they can at least be styled now and are manageable.

Ugh, honestly, knowing that I have to go through this again makes me NOT want to have another kid! (stupid reason, I know!)

Mix it into something; you won't even taste it.

I tried it right out of the bottle, and the taste was unmistakable. I couldn't stop gagging. Surprisingly, I cannot taste it mixed into anything flavored.
