Now it's a Latisse thread

I have been getting them since last October & everything seemed fine until the last 2 times I got a fill & my eyelids immediately puffed up, got red, & stung.

I just had to get them off permanently & I look like a freak! Were my eyelashes really this short???

Anyhoo, has anyone had to deal with the same thing? I'm wondering if I'm out forever with the extensions or if I can just request extra sensitive glue?

I read that all glues have formaldehyde in them.....gross.....but it's generally the latex that causes sensitivity?

Thanks!

I don't really have any advice but did you ask the place that did them if they used something different?

Well, the problem is that I was going to many different places trying to find the perfect girl. I found her & then developed an allergy. I have really sensitive skin so I'm dumb for not requesting sensitive glue in the 1st place.

If you google the problem, there seems to be a load of people who've had the same allergic reaction to the glue. I would probably request the sensitive glue and see how that goes.

I've been getting lash extensions for 3 months and haven't made an appointment for a top up cos I thought I'd have a break from them for a while. I am so worried that I'm going to hate the look of my eyes and lashes without them!

Thanks Rachel. I did google it but was hoping for some closer information!

I do not like how I look without them. SUCKS.

I was really interested in getting this done but I have very sensitive skin also so was afraid of that happening to me...Also what is upkeep like? How often do you have to go and what is the approximate cost each time? My falsies are only 3 bucks and last about 5 wears, so the cost is only around $15 a month with glue.

I don't know how to do falsies or I would! If you aren't allergic to your current glue, I bet you'd be fine.
I was going in every 4-5 Weeks at $35 so it wasn't that bad.

^Holy crap, that's awesome. I was all ready to get them done until I looked up all the salons in my area who do them. I looked up over 20 salons and the cheapest I found was $170 for the first set, and $75 for the touch up at 3-4 weeks. All of them said if you went past 4 weeks you have to get a full set again. Ugh. Sticking with falsies I guess.

UM HOLY CRAP, ERICA! I would be getting them done all the time at that price, too! I was looking at them in Oregon and there was only one place around me that did them at she wanted $200 for initial and $75 for a touch up

The cost is very inexpensive to most but I decided today that i'm never getting them again. My lashes are gone & look like crap. I wish I never got them

That sucks Luckily it is hair though and will grow back - they should be back to normal in a month or two. Falsies are so easy once you get the hang of it, you should try

Sad to hear . Like Jessica said, falsies are very easy to use once you get the hang of it. I have also found that cutting a Q-tip in half and applying the lash glue with that makes it super easy, IMO of course.

I actually went to Sephora just now & got some since I'm speaking in church tomorrow & don't want to look ridiculous with no lashes!!

My eyelashes were initially 50 (about $80) and then 25 ($40) for the top ups every 3 weeks. I've noticed that I have patches where my own eyelashes have obviously been pulled out by the extensions and haven't grown back yet. I had quite long, thick eyelashes to start with, so I'm a bit disappointed. I'll be using falsies for a while I think.

I successfully put on my falsies today!
I'm seriously so upset about my lashes. They are so sparse

Try one of those eyelash growth enhancers. You don't need a super expensive one- just one with the conditioners that help the lashes grow in stronger. The rapid lash is pretty decent for a cheaper one.

I need some of this stuff. I haven't found anything that anyone can give me GOOD reviews on yet.

There's one that is sold at Armstrong McCall and I've heard it was pretty good too. If I go this week I'll ask about it and check on the price.

Ok, now I'm trying to find product reviews for eyelash enhancers but every website is obviously promoting their top review product.

How can I find a true site for honest reviews?

For those ladies who've gotten eyelash extentions, how do you deal with them?
My friend who started her own salon did mine for free, and for the next week I was so annoyed at them! And how you're not allowed to rub your eyes or what not, it was just more of a pain then anything!

I don't know how people have them on for so long! :P

Erica, have you tried makeupalley.com for reviews?

I really think they should inform girls that they will be missing half their eyelashes if they get extensions. I'm still so pissed & will tell anyone to avoid them!

Vonnie, I got Latisse.
