Authentic MAC on Ebay?

I'm not sure if its possible, I've heard you guys say many times that most of them aren't real. I'm looking for the Burmese Beauty Quad for an Xmas gift for one of my friends...

I would be more inclined to think it was fake if the store had a bunch of the same items. They have quite a variety. I would probably email them and ask them where they got. Obviously, they can lie their faces off but sometimes that helps to judge.

Hmm. Thanks. I guess my question is just: How do you tell if its fake/real once you get it? I'm fine with purchasing since its via Paypal and its fairly early in the season that I can return and try to get another one.

Those look fine to me. What you have to really worry about on Ebay are the brushes and the single eyeshadows and the ridiculous sets that seem too good to be true. But anways, you'd have to know the texture/pigmentation and the colors and the shimmer/dimension of the eyeshadows to determine whether it's fake or not. But these look okay from the packaging at least, and the seller's reputation, and the price of it. Usually fakes will be listed for much cheaper since their goal is to get people to buy it thinking they're getting a fantastic deal. This is calling for a much higher price than the normal price on the fact that it was limited edition and such. Usually limited edition stuff aren't faked unless super duper high in demand like my beloved Stereo Rose MSF... but anyways other than that, limited edition stuff aren't faked that often since by the time they fake it, the collection is done and over with and a new one is out!

I was JUST looking at MAC makeup on e-bay wondering the same thing.....I love their pigments, and they are cheaper on e-bay.

Thanks Carol! I should just go over to your house after I get these and have you look at them

Edit: How about this one? http://www.ecrater.com/p/12578150/ma...-100-authentic I'm not sure I've ever bought anything from eCrater...

^ that one looks good to me too.. I don't think they've faked the new quad packaging yet.. but I could be wrong! sure, come on over! haha you can take a look online at various swatches of the eyeshadow and compare it to the quad when you receive it as well

Debbie, you could always get pigment samples instead of full sized jars.. much cheaper! and I've never heard of anyone who was able to use up an entire pigment jar Although MAC did significantly cut out the amount of product they used to give you without lowering the price
There are tons of sellers on ebay and other sites that sell pigment samples. I'm not sure which ebay sellers are trustworthy though. I've ordered from various sites and ebay, and and have received definitely authentic products. As long as you do your research about the seller you're buying from and look up info about sellers/sites that other people recommend, you should be fine buying pigments off these places

Awesome, thanks Carol! One of my other friends has the quad (which is why I wanted to get it in the first place) so I'll compare it to hers. It'll be hard though...since its a gift and I can't swatch it. I just hope that eCrater is legit...I think I'm going to buy one off eBay for myself anyways, its such a great quad for Asian skin

Thanks! Yeah I agree, I have NEVER used a full one. I mean I have spilled a few so there is very little in the bottom. I'll check out the samples.
