Blow Dryer/Hair Dryer Recommendations?

My blowdryer kicked the bucket so I need a new one.

It was an Andis Tourmaline Ionic Nano Ceramic piece of junk.

I swear, it took me so much longer to dry my hair than my ancient Vidal Sassoon one. In fact, I got that one out and it dried my hair faster and better than the Tourmaline one.

My hair is thick and smooth so it generally dries in around 5 minutes.

I ran a forum search and saw the T3 is very popular, however it's been awhile since those threads were active.

I'd love to hear your recommendations, especially if there are any newer models that you love.

I have a Pink T3 from Sephora and I've been happy with it. It dries my hair pretty well, but I have thin hair so it has never taken very long to dry.

I have baby fine hair and in the winter my house gets so dry that my hair statics to my face at a moment's notice. I have 3 different hair dryers and the T3 is the only one that dries my hair without my hair sticking to my face the entire time.

i have thicker, kind of coarse hair. i have been using Sedu for awhile now. i have both of these:
Sedu Revolution Pro Tourmaline Ionic 4000i Hair Dryer | Folica.com
and i think this one (but i got it about 1.5 or 2 years ago, so it may not be this model):
Sedu Ultrapower Professional Hair Dryer | Folica.com
they both dry my hair rather quickly. with the cheapie ones i used to use, it could take 20 mins or more, and parts would still be kind of damp, whereas now i can dry my hair in about 7-10 minutes. i try not to blow dry my hair too often anymore though.

ETA: my hair is fairly long also, past my shoulder blades by a couple or several inches.

I have a T3 too and I love it. It's the T3 Evolution. I have really long hair and isnt super fine but it isnt super thick either. It dries my hair pretty and doesn't give me the blow-dried frizzy look my Conair used to. It feels like it's a lot less damaging to my hair and its super light weight as well. I'd definitely recommend it.

ETA: Just to give you an estimate on time, it takes me about 10 mins to blow-dry and style my hair and my hair falls to about the middle of my back.

My sister is a hairdresser and at the salon where she works they all use Parlux. I have one too and although I don't really use it for styling my hair as it's curly, it dries really quick

Rusk ctc Lite 1900 Watt Professional Dryer IRE5587
I have this ^ one. Its perfect for my thick frizzy hair. It dries it much quicker than a normal dryer and is super light so your hand doesn't get tired. Someone here recommended it to me, Kara(nakedmosher) I think. If this one goes out I'll try the T3 next.

Folica has 25% off on orders over $50 today!! Code is EMPDAY5

I have a T3 Evolution also. LOVE IT! It was quite expensive at Sephora and so I looked around a little and the beauty-supply*ish store (it also has a salon in it) at my local mall had it for MUCH less. It's awesome and I love it!

My hair dryer died today! I'm kind of glad because I want to try one of those non-drug store fancy brands.

I'm thinking about the Rusk CTC Lite Powerful Professional Lightweight Dryer Infused with CTC Technology which Charla recommended or this one Rusk Speed Freak Dryer. Another option is the T3 Tourmaline Overnight Hair Dryer because it is compact and I don't want to spend over $100 on their other models. Or maybe this one, but I've never heard of the brand FHI Heat Nano Salon Pro 2000 Hair Dryer which has a lot of positive reviews.

Question is do I need 1500-2000 watts or would 1200 suffice, what exactly does the wattage do for me...is this how fast it will dry my hair? I don't dry my hair every day, mainly when I'm rushed for time because I like to let it air dry. I notice when I do blow dry my hair it gets frizzy and looks dull so I want a dryer to counteract that.

Help!

Uh nevermind, I'm appliancely (new word) challenged. I had the flat iron plugged in, NOT the hair dryer.

Char if your blow dryer ever does die , I have the FHI one and I love it. I usually go through a blow dryer about once a year (even the expensive ones) and this one has been going strong for 18 months!!

I'm a hairstylist, and this is my favorite - they last a long time and I have never had any issues with them.

I *think* the wattage is only referring to how much power the dryer uses.
Char, I'm glad your dryer isn't actually dead though!

Somehow my hair dryer came back to life.

Hey, how about Solano? Anyone have experience with those?

Thought I'd bump this thread to say that I picked up the Rusk Speed Freak and tried it for the first time last night and so far so good.

It has decent power, I like the heat settings, and definitely makes my hair nowhere near as frizzy as my old drugstore Conair. In fact, there were very few frizzies to tame so it was nice that I could wear my hair with my natural waves.

Hey, for the user who wore hair extension then what kind of hair dryer or blower should be used or not to dry out the hair.
