epilator user...

so i've recently purchased one of these. my legs went fine [tho i dont think it quite got all of them but i think thats just practice needed]. my question is when i attempted my armpits it kept snipping my skin [?] and my armpits bleed a little. am i doing something wrong? also has anyone attempted their bikini line. i think ill be able to handle it [ive plucked there before] but im not sure how to maneuver it like i need a smaller epilator. anyone else have luck with it?

I don't use one but I've watched enough videos about them I think you have to pull the skin taut while doing the armpits to try to keep the surface as flat as possible while doing it or else your skin can kind of get sucked into it and thus causing the snipping issue you're talking about. Good luck w/ the bikini line.. I hear it's a killer but then some people are better at handling the pain than others!

I never bled when I epilated my armpit area, but my roommate has. Bikini area is a bitch, but I have a high tolerance for pain so I can bear it...but with many small breaks.

Make sure you exfoliate those areas regularly, because if you don't you'll end up with mega-ingrown hairs.

I find my bikini line to be a lot more manageable pain-wise than underarm. But with both, you definitely do have to pull the skin very tight.

It should! Those things hurt like a MF...especially the underarms.

you are holding your arm over your head, right? i keep my arm like i'm trying to scratch my upper back with the hand of the underam i am epilating (if that made any sense). i used to bleed toward the bottom of my armpit, but not anymore.

after doing it for a couple months, i no longer found the underarms painful. i still haven't gotten used to doing my legs yet. ouch!

wait, does it hurt more than waxing? i wax but i do it myself so it takes up kind of a lot of time, so i've been considering getting an epilator for my armpits. i thought it would hurt less than waxing, but maybe i'm just wishfully thinking

hmm i wonder about this, cause i usually pluck my armpit hair with my tweezers... it'd probably be to the same effect, yes ?

It doesn't hurt more than waxing per se, but what makes it a bit much for most people is that you have to go over the same spot multiple times to get all the hair, whereas waxing gets it all in one go.

I'm not sure how long it takes you to wax yourself, but my feeling is that epilating wouldn't save you any time (money maybe, from not having to buy new wax)...

hmnmn. nothing seems to work well for me. i cant wax myself cause no hair ever comes off and epliating doesnt seem to make my legs smooth. i think i can take the pain of it all but shaving seems to be the better option
