Eyeshadow creasing

I know to prevent eye shadows from creasing is to use a primer... but what about for cream eye shadows? I've tried using primer for it, but it still creases, and from Googling, it says that cream shadows tend to crease the most. Is there any way to stop it!!

THANKS

you can put a primer under cream shadows as well, or find cream shadows that advertise themselves as being creaseless like the Benefit Creaseless Cream shadows. I actually used mine today and I put it on w/ out a primer underneath and there has been no creasing from what I can see and I've had it on for 4-5 hrs or so. but for cream shadows that I know will crease, I always put a primer under.

Try using a similar colored POWDER underneath, or on top of your creme eyeshadow. Should set it nicely.

TooFaced Shadow Insurance is awesome, as well as Urban Decay's Primer Potion!

I might try Too Faced b/c I've seen great reviews. Plus, the UD Eyeshadow PP has a cute, but wasteful container.

Some people say Too Faced Shadow Insurance and the Urban Decay Prime Potion are the same thing but just in different types of packaging. They're wrong, the formulas are different also. The main differences between Too Faced and Urban Decay is that Too Faced is more moisturizing. It's like more creamy/liquidy than the Urban Decay so I found it to crease on me a lot faster than Urban Decay since I have oily lids. People with less oily lids might actually prefer the Too Faced. Since it's more creamy, it's also easier to blend eyeshadows on the Too Faced (but the difference is pretty miniscule). Also the packaging is less wasteful on the Too Faced. HOWEVER, be warned that after a while, the product starts to separate inside the container and when you try squirting some out, you'll be squirting oil or something that resembles oil out before you finally get the actual product to come out. This can be helped somewhat by massaging the tube before squeezing it out.. but I found it to be such a hassle and a waste of time trying to do it and I just found the product to get more oily-ish as time went on and really sucking at helping at preventing creasing.. I got so annoyed at it, I gave up on it when there was still 1/2 the product left and went out to buy another UDPP. I tried to give away my unused portion of the Too Faced to my friends but they all had experienced the same annoyance with it as I did and would not take it off my hands! so I just threw it away. Never again. I'll stick w UDPP forever.

So basically
Too Faced Shadow Insurance: less drying (which can mean leading to faster creasing on oily lids but might feel more comfortable on drier lids), less wasteful packaging, but product starts to separate after a while and you'll start seeing oily substance squirt out.
Urban Decay Primer Potion: more drying on the lids than Too Faced, you'll need to cut the bottle open when you can't get anymore product out since there will still be quite an amount left deposited in the grooves and crevices that the wand can't reach, but the product does not separate

Oh and I found eyeshadow vibrancy to be about the same level for both.

hope that helps some people in deciding which one to get

thanks carol for the TF Shadow Insurance Massage Tip

I recently bought TF SI, before that I've been using UDPP.

Also, a small tip for mineral/loose eyeshadow:
use Fyrinnae's epoxy. Very long lasting and effective with color vibrancy!

there are people who use Mac Paintpot as base.

I've tried using Mac's Prep and Prime for eyes, but it doesn't really work well

About UDPP:
I think there's an exclusive Sephora UDPP made in a tube like TFSI, and with more content as well.
Grab it if you see it

oooh yes I also like the Fyrinnae Epoxy also! but for shimmery shadows. It definitely brings out the fullest shimmer potential of the shadows!

I'm waiting for UDPP to come out with that big tube size for the Eden color since I prefer Eden over the original even though it does tend to crease a little more. I love the matte colored base it provides It's like MAC's Soft Ochre Paint Pot combined w/ UDPP!
