Getting IPL tomorrow

Want to get some sun damage removed so I'm getting I2PL. Now I've of course just looked at some horror story pics online where people got all burned, so now i'm freaking out. Someone tell me this doesn't hurt and I won't come out a hideous beast please

good luck! i hope it goes well today.
i've been curious about it myself, but the reviews i've read seem to be either good or bad and split down the middle.

Keep us updated. I originally wanted this done on my stretch marks because I won't wear a two peice bathing suit now and if it didn't work I still wouldn't afterwards, but I would like to have it done on my face....You should post before and after pictures Pam, I am interested to see, if you felt comfortable to do so.

Its going to sting a little but its not too bad. You will look like a burn victim for about a week but just think about how great you are going to look when its all done.

Pam are they going to numb you first? You could always numb yourself with cream ahead of time and wash it off before you go in. This helps A LOT!

^ so would it just fade stretch marks to white, and then you're stuck with the "scars" look? That's where I am right now, I want to get rid of the white streaks. (ETA under Debbie)

That's almost impossible to do. Have you tried RX retin A on them yet? Or rose hip seed oil.

I'll try rose hip seed oil next, I haven't tried either. I used an avon stretch mark cream, and "scarzone" that faded them from red when they were new.

OK, so I'm back. I kinda half chickened out and just did some on cheeks and forehead to start because I was too afraid to do the whole face at once

It kinda slightly stings but just for a quick second when the pulse goes off. Actually for some reason the flash is worse than the sting... it's like even though they tell you it is coming you still get startled

I feel like almost nothing right now. Maybe like i got a super minor sunburn. My most hated freckle is already darker than ever.... hopefully that means it will be gone soon

I have a shit ton of that avon stuff that I bought and used every once in awhile but I guess you have to use it everyday in order for it to work?

Pam, that's good that you are back and able to write about it that must mean it went well. Keep us updated.

^ I used it almost daily for a month or two and they were gone (faded). With my oldest, my MIL bought some for me many months after he was born, but it still worked on turning them white. Now I look like a zebra. I finally said fuck it and wore bikini bottoms this year, even though my ass is stripey, since I'm assuming I'll look like crap forever anyway

Sorry Pam, we totally threadcrapped this!

I think its better you spot treated first because the whole face stings like hell. Did they get the heart shaped freckle?

stretch marks usually start out red and fade to white/lighter color on their own.

It may need more than one hit but mine usually takes about 6-7 days before it falls off. Make sure you aren't using a lot of moisturizer or keeping the skin too moist. The skin needs to be dry to get the scabs off. I'd only put triple antibiotic cream(not ointment) once every two days.

it's not exactly scabby... it's like little irregular squiggles/dots of dark pigment that seem like they are right under the surface

It doesn't feel roughish when you touch them? I've never actually used an IPL but what I do use should be similar enough. Did it feel like it was actually burning the spot off when they zapped you?
