Has anyone had a Kerasmooth treatment done?

Its similar to a Brazilian keratin treatment but doesn't have Formaldehyde. I was wondering if anyone here had experience with it. I'm thinking of getting it done this week.

I had Keratin Complex done a few times, I believe that it is free of formaldehyde. It worked pretty well, it was way less harsh on my hair than Japanese Straightening (I had quite a bit of breakage with that). It was about $350 and I had to get it done every 4 months or so. I ended up trying Wen products and it got rid of the frizz just as well for me and was a lot cheaper, so I haven't had the Keratin done since last year.

Well i'll get it for cost which is around $50 and my sister will do it so I won't have to spend $350. If i had to spend that much it wouldn't be worth it to me. Did your hair break or do anything crazy at all Kristin? I'm scared b/c I've never dyed my hair or put chemical in it before. I've had highlights once and it fried my hair

My hair stylist friend just started offering this and keeps trying to talk me into getting it done. She speaks highly of it but I am afraid that I would lose the ability to wear my hair naturally curly and will be forced to wear it straight and flat all the time.

We have a mutual friend that has very frizzy hair normally and I saw her a couple weeks ago after she got it done and her hair was so soft looking and smooth. But it was also very flat.

I would love to see some before and after pics if anyone here has had it done.

No, it was very gentle. Unlike the Japanese, it did not smell awful when she was putting it on, it actually smelled pretty good. For $50, you should totally do it, it completely gets rid of frizz.

It does make your hair kind of flat. Japanese made it super super flat, the Keratin was a bit more natural.

The curly thing is another thing i am worried about. In the summer i like to wear my hair wavy and I'm afraid I won't be able to and it'll be flat. If i used too much of that Davines conditioner my hair gets so flat and I can't do anything with it so IDK now.

My stylist recommended this for me once, but when I asked if I would still be able to wear my hair curly, he said if I as worried about that, not to do the treatment. It will definitely reduce the curl.

Bumping to see if anyone else did this? I just bought a groupon for it. I am honestly fine with never seeing my awful hair curly again. lol. But, I watched a few videos and all of the women still had wave or curl to their hair; it just was smooth instead of frizzy.

Sylvia what's the brand they are using? The Kerasmooth made my hair stick straight for about 9 months. Now I do something else??? I can't remember the name but I have to have it done every 12 weeks. Its not as strong and I can still curl my hair with this one but I have no frizz.

I did the keratin complex one and it didnt make my hair completely straight at all =/

lbut i like that it just reduced the amount of frizz and styling time. my hair is totally out of wack from baby tho and ive been losing a lot of it since him and weight loss so im a bad example, lol

Charla, it says by Chi, so I'm assuming the flat-iron company?

Congrats on the baby, Julz!

Hmm I don't know that one but I am assuming they are all sort of the same. I won't hurt to try it.
