Smashed up powder - can it be saved?

I have a really great, dark purple Smashbox eyeshadow that I dropped. Now that it's a pot of loose granular bits, I can't get it to go on properly...as a shadow.

I've tried wetting it and using it as a liner but I really want the 'shadow' back. Anyone have any good tips on how broken/smashed shadow can be re-pressed?

The same thing happened to a pot of brand new brow shadow. Ugh.

I saw a cosmetician on t.v. say that if you add a bit of rubbing alcohol (highest concentration available in drugstore) to smashed powder it will reconfigure into a united mass.
I don't remember whether you were supposed to stir...

It's worth a shot. Every morning i end up dumping bits in my sink and it makes the sink look pretty dirty. I'll try the water first and see if I can make a patty cake

yeah it can be fixed.. but I prefer not to do it. I think it's a hassle. I usually just pour the broken eyeshadow into a container and use it like a loose powder eyeshadow/pigment. It applies just fine that way and you can get a more pigmented application.
