Flat Iron Recommendations Please :)

Hiya
I am in desperate need of a new flat iron. I did a search and saw lots of recommendations, but the threads were mostly older so I figured I'd start a new thread to get the latest info. I have long, thick, wavy-ish dyed hair. I don't flat-iron everyday, but probably about twice a week. I'd like an iron that will get my hair pin straight without leaving creases. I'd also like for it to last at least 2 years and be at or around $150. I know that is a big wishlist . Can any of you AF experts point me in the right direction? Thanks

I was kind of thinking about this one:
Sedu Pro Ionic Ceramic Tourmaline Flat Iron

I LOVE my Sedu Revolution! I got my mom and sis-in-law hooked on it as well...both have since purchased their own. I have fine hair, but my sis-in-law has super thick, wavy hair and she said it's the best flat iron she's ever had (and she's had a lot of them!).

You can get $20 off at Folicia right now too.

I use this one. I haven't tried others, so I can't compare, but I've been quite happy with it.

It is the wet to dry version.

^ This is the one I have as well. I love that it is wet to dry. I have a LOT of hair and it takes forever to dry on it's own (I wash it at night, towel dry, sleep on it, and it is STILL wet in the morning) so it's nice that I can straighten it when it is not all the way dry. I rarely blow dry my hair to avoid damage. I have tried lots of others and it is the best one that I have found so far.

Costco had them for $74.99 a few months ago when I picked mine up. I just checked online and unfortunately they don't have them anymore. But you could always check your local Costco.

I usually blow-dry or air dry, so I hadn't even really considered getting a wet 2 dry...maybe I should look into that
I am so indecisive!

Does anyone know if they are faked, like the chi's are? I found one on ebay for $94

Yes, they are faked so be careful about that. I use a Babyliss and love it. I have also tried the Sedu from a friend and it was great as well..... I have wanted to try the Croc as it's always gotten amazing reviews from people who use it.

Chi's are faked. But you can find them on Amazon (reputable carrier) or Folica for less than $94 for sure!

I love my Chi and it's been working great for over a year. However, my hair isn't super thick and it's naturally fairly straight.

This is what I have. I have thick curly hair and it works great. The temperature is adjustable (but I've never used it on anything but the hottest setting).

I've had mine for 3ish years and it still works like new.

I'd definitely recommend a wet to dry. It cuts down on the time it takes to do your hair since you don't have to blowdry first, and for me that's a big deal.

Do the wet to dry flat irons create volume? I'd love to cut down on blowdrying my hair, but if I air dry, my hair is super flat on top. Usually I have to use a round brush to get a little bit of volume.

I have an ISO and like it.

Could someone please give me (or anyone interested) some recommendations on a heat protectant thermal spray to use before using the flat-iron? I have Chi and dont like it. Pleaseandthanku!

I have the Croc wet-to-dry as well and it works great. I'd wait for one of folica's $20/20% off coupons, I'm pretty sure I got mine for just under $100. I bought it because of good reviews on here for using it for curling hair as well as straightening, and it works well. I usually at least 1/2 blowdry my hair before using it, sometimes it looks a little funky if I do straight up wet to dry.

I used to have the Sedu (Sedu Pro Ionic Ceramic Tourmaline Flat Iron (1") with free heat proof pouch, su-100A, Free Shipping) which I loved as well, I just wanted to try something new after the Sedu died. The Sedu was definitely amazing as far as gliding through my hair smoothly.

I've had the Sedu Revolution for 4 months now and I love it. I have thick, slightly wavy hair. I love that it works pretty well for making loose curls too.

I also 1/2way blowdry my hair and then use the wet to dry flat iron.

I always use something as a heat protectant.

I switch up between using Chi Silk Infusion and Kerastase Chroma Thermique (LOVE this product -- use it every 3 or 4 shampoos). I used to use Moroccan Oil but I found it laid too greasy on my type of hair.

CHI Silk Infusion - Free shipping over $99 | Luxury Parlor

Kerastase Riflection Chroma Thermique - Free shipping over $99 | Luxury Parlor

Moroccan Oil Treatment – Free Shipping Over $35

I love my CHI, but I have naturally straight hair. I use it when I want the super straight look.

Wow, thanks everyone for the recommendations I couldn't find a Croc locally, I guess that means I'll have to make the drive to Orlando tomorrow...maybe I'll visit the Rack while I'm there

I have a Hai Stik and LOVE it! It gets up to 390 degrees which is very hot.

I've also used the croc wet to dry and also agree that its a good choice. It's just a matter of price difference. I purchased my Hai for $60 and the Croc runs $120ish.

I would pick one of these though.

I have a 1 inch T3 Bespoke Labs wet to dry straightener and I love it! I've had it for 3 years now and I've never had a problem with it. I use it daily and my hair feels just fine, not burnt at all. The temperature is adjustable and goes up to 410 degrees. You can use it to curl your hair too. It retails for $200 but folica has it on sale for $110.

T3 Bespoke Labs Narrow Wet-or-Dry Iron, 83910-se, Free Shipping

I just got a promo code from folica - 25% off + free shipping on orders over $50 with code MISSYOU41781.

Folica is always offering some kind of discount, but this one is awesome!
