| | | Trouble getting nail polish off I bought some of those really rich, dark colors from Zoya. I spent the money and bought the basecoat & topcoat too.
The color I used is Ibiza. Its really dark blue. It chipped in an hour then it didn't come off all the way. It's been 2 weeks now and there is still remnants of the polish in my nail beds. I used everything even the cuticle tool with no luck.
Is there some super power polish remover that I don't know about?

| | I think acetone-based removers are stronger than non-acetone. You can't use acetone if you use fake nails though (I think).
Side story: When I was in high school, I stained my fingernails with potassium permanganate, which is bright, deep purple like this.I didn't know how to get it off, until I remembered my chemistry... I had to use sulfuric acid to unstain my hands! |

I used straight acetone remover & then tried non-acetone too. I have natural nails.

Pure acetone is very drying for your nails, it's very good at removing oils and whatnots

| | | Hmmm felt. I'll definitely try it. I just painted over it today but it looks so horrible when I have no polish on.

| | i always find that scraping it while wet (like in the shower or washing hands) really helps to get off stubbron nail polish...
i use one of those nail brush things & then just pick with my nails too... GOOD LUCK! |

| | | I would soak it in the nail polish remover for a minute or two. Then add some oil and rub in. |

| | If there is a nail supply store nearby, you could get professional strength acetone or even non-acetone (not as effective, recommended for natural nails) nail polish remover. I find that even the non-acetone pro version works better than drugstore acetone. Hope that helps

| | | Yeah, the stupid stuff is still there.
I don't like this brand Zoya. It seriously chips within an hour of application. I use top & basecoats too.
Sucks.

| | | Erica, I find Zoya polish has the best staying power when applied with only a base coat. It seriously lasts a full week on me that way. |

| | | ^Really? Well, I'll try it without using the topcoat. It gets so thick & think that's a big reason they peel fast.

| | | Jess was correct. One coat of polish & one coat of topcoat works perfect!
I think it was just to thick before but their directions do say 2 coats of polish + topcoat + basecoat. There's just to much going on there!

| | | Zoya chips quickly for me too, but I started wearing Sally Hansen Salon topcoat over it (that stuff lasts forever) and the staying power is great. I also only use removers with acetone, the non-acetone stuff is too weak.

| | | Sephora's OPI nail polish remover works better than any other one I've tried. I had problems removing Zoya too, mine didn't chip but since it went on so thick, it did smudge.

| | The first few times I used my zoya, it stayed for a week +, and the last few times I've chipped it w/in a day Don't know why, its not as if I had my hands in dishwater, or soaking in anything I've never had it stick on though, it comes off with my nail polish remover pretty easily.
I need a good, long lasting, black polish. I'd like to do my nails once a week, at most.
