So, she f***ed it up!

Got my hair cut and colored yesterday by a new person (have yet to be loyal to a stylist) and while the colour is nice the cut is so studpidly crooked I had more people comment on that than the drastic color change. The bangs are crooked, and so is the back, and the layers framing my face don't match! If she thinks I am going to let her "fix" it, she's nuts! Can I ask for a refund on the cut because now I have to have someone else fix it? I paid more than $200.00 to get this done ("I used 3 tubes of color..." so she says). I'm bitter.

The cut was $28.00. She said she wasn't going to charge me for the blow-dry and style. Yeah, thanks.

I would definately talk to her manager and get a refund or have a senior stylist there fix it. I'm sorry...good luck with getting it fixed!

Get a FULL refund, she owes you after that kind of cut. Call twice a day and talk to her manager everytime until you do.

ugh, that sucks. I know the feeling. I had one stylist for years and then i just HAD to move. Now I've had a new stylist every time for 2 years. some people are incompetent and shouldn't be stylists. Definately talk to the manager. You shouldn't have to pay to be lopsided. It's like I told a manager once, I could have done a better job doing it on my own and blindfolded than this person was able to do while looking straight at my head.

People shouldn't be hired as stylists unless they are fully capable.

need to add, after you get your $$$ back, dont go there again, even to get fixed by another stylist, if they hire one incompetent person, they'll hire more.

Thanks for backing me up! I have no intention of ever going back there, except to get my money back! I'm even pissed that I have to now take time out of my day, drive there, 5 year old in tow, and deal with this! Maybe I'll just let him loose in the salon if they refuse to refund my money

SORRY BUT! Let him loose in the salon, as a owner I'd have you in court for damages, as color can blind, shears can stab. Also your child can get hurt!!!! My shears are so sharp, they cut deep.
Your child should never go to the salon, unless he is getting a cut. Then if you are also getting cut, have someone watch the child outside the salon for everyones safety. You do not want to know how bad a child can get hurt in a salon. Even if you have a good child, they still get bored, wiggle, then you need to move. If you move a lot, or jerk away fast to grab your child, and I'm cutting, it will be messed up.
Question.....was your child there for the cut? Did you cross, or hang your legs? If my client does not sit the way I ask, after the third time I snap my comb on their leg. If you sit with your legs crossed, or hanging, you will get an uneven cut. I warn my clients, if they insist on not sitting right, it's their own fault. If you keep moving your head, and I need to reposition your head every 20 seconds, chances are you messed up my guide. Clients need to listen to us, and sit still, and let us move your head where we need it.
As for your refund, is she a renter? If so you are SOL. if not the manager will fix it. NEVER leave a salon unhappy, state your case then. Also anything over 2 weeks is too late.
BTW...If I had to use 3 tubes of color, you'd be charged high, as a tube should cover one head of hair, 3 means you have thick hair, long etc.... or you wanted 3 colors in your hair, so you get charged by the color. So it's more work, more time. OH! NEVER leave wet, always get dried, mistakes show up after the blow dry. I was trained to cut twice, wet and dry, as hair lays different dry. Then again I charge 65 a cut.
Be nice when you go back, trust me if you go in nasty, it will make it hard to get a refund.
Again, never leave unhappy, you need to speak up then.

It's been my experience that I don't find what's wrong until I wash and dry myself and by then I don't want to go back because it's after the fact. I haven't had a stylist in about 3 years. I had this lady that used to cut my hair and I wouldn't let anyone else touch it. Then I had to move and now I have someone new cutting my hair each time. I did find someone to do my color though..but I don't go to her for regular trims because she talks too much and always wants to do what she wants and I find that sooo annoying. The last time a guy cut it but he was smelling like cigarettes and that gives me a headache so I really don't know what to do.

I always have an issue with coming home and two to three days later noticing mistakes, but ah well, I pay 20 for a cut from a gal who I semi-grew up with. I'm thinking of switching to a gal who was Paul Mitchell trained, but she and Erik have semi-history, and I dont know if I'll punch her if she mentions it. Do you think she'll mess up my cut if I do?

tee hee j/k, and Tina is right, dont let the kid run loose it is terribly dangerous.

If you go back nice, and they dont fix it up, go to the manager nice, and if that doesn't work, report them to the local papers and such, and then become their biggest annoyance until they refund you.

haha...when you said her and erik have a 'semi-history' it made me laugh, because there is this girl who I am/was like best friends with her now boyfriend (though had our proximity not be incredibly far from each other we would have dated and probably would be dating *sigh*) is sooo funny. Everytime she sees me she gets this look like "I want to punch you!" and it makes me laugh, because I am no threat to her. She's her own threat...she's soo mean to him.

hahah, she's no threat to me, and I know it, but it is one of those things where she has all the things I'm insecure about, so I therefore hate her.

God I am so typical female!!!

crazy, isn't it?! This girl was constantly flirting with my best friend's boyfriend, and she definitely liked him. They would go places together, just the two of them, and it really bothered her, and she got soo mad about it, especially because he defended the other girl and said nothing had or would happen! But she still isn't exactly happy about it...meh...

I gots no boyfriend, and any guy who likes me (and I have a few) live very, very far away...I attract small-town boys (which I don't mind!) and live in a big city. Go figure.

Okay, first of all, no, my son was not with me when I got my hair cut the first time. Second, I was kidding about letting him run loose in the salon, hence the wink emoticon. Third, I didn't notice until I got home how crooked it was and others told me about the back, less than 2 hours after I had it done. Salon was closed Sunday so I called first thing this morning. I went there this afternoon, with kid in tow (they have a TV so he sat there and watched, at the owner's insistance). He didn't move a muscle. I know my kid. The owner said it was definitely a poor cut and I am now very happy with it. Glad it's over.
