For a sore throat I find it helps if you keep drinking a lot, as being dehydrated makes the problem worse. Also, strangely, chewing gum when you cant drink helps- as again this keeps the area moist. Other than that, make sure you take vitamin C and generally look after yourself- get lots of sleep and dont smoke or go anywhere smoky. Hopefully it will only last a few days but if it lasts longer than a week maybe go to the doc to get antibiotics
